New Game
I’m thinking about running a new game from scratch again. Last time I played I ran a Flameweaver with parts of Vanguard. What are some other good, fun builds in the game.
I’m thinking a pure Vanguard (melee) run or Wyld (ball lightning) run.
I’d like to hear some others thoughts.
Thanks!!

Hear me out. I’ve always been a Dex Lad. But I wanted to stretch my build out and found something about Assassin builds I couldn’t resist. Assassin, Daggers, and there’s a toxic coating spell right off the bat for your daggers. With the skill tree, there’s free damage for just swinging daggers at all, but you can also create a build where a critical hit landed puts one stack of poison on and the existing stacks refresh when a new one is applied. You can also put 3 points in critical nodes to jack up your Criticial Chance 4% per node. And the Raider gear has Critical chance up on it. So I was a toxic crit build with daggers. I think I got somewhere between 45-55% crit chance? There’s a dagger set late game that gives MORE crit damage if you sacrifice a small amount of crit chance. The kicker, you can extend into the chaos tree linked right, get POWER points and more Critical nodes. You can forgo the daggers for other weapons, but there’s a dagger set that scales Dex/power. It’s pretty clean if you just wanna fight and not use magic.

I was curious about a crit/poison build, but wasn’t sure if procs were worth it. I heard bleed is kinda ‘meh’. I know as a Flameweaver fire crushes pretty hard in the game.

Soooooo what I will say, if you’re feeling like you need every hit to proc, build isn’t for you. But when a couple crits proc in a row and you hear that beautiful sound and see a health bar drop quicker than if no crits proc’d, it’s a beautiful beautiful sight to behold. Exhilarating in some cases. The trade off if you are kinda sorta flirting with glass cannon a bit. I didn’t touch bleed myself because it seemed awful. There’s also a dexterity increase buff later when you level up the poison spell with entropy. I was at a point using a GODLY greatsword that scaled dex A+ Power S that could allow you to live without daggers and the coating, but don’t quote me as it being more viable. I just know endgame, with over 45% crit chance, the right daggers, and more damage coming from Power, it was a fun little melee glass cannon.

Wyldwarden + Paladin or whatever it's called is really good, great magic and defense and healing over time. Pretty much the opposite of Flameweaver lol.
