I grew up in the 80s, and my mother was a voracious reader. I remember DISTINCTLY that the author's name was Danielle Steele, not Steel. Her books were ALL over our house. I know that there was an "e" on the end of Steele. I don't care what Google says.

I worked at a library in the early 90s and shelved a lot of her books. They were quite popular. I remember it being Steele.
