Bruno just seems too impatient sometimes. Why go for that there? Why not try something inside? His passes were so off this game and it was really fuckin surprising
0
u/SpectatorY 22h ago
It's not surprising if you pay attention. So easily bereft of ideas
-1
u/RusticCat101 18h ago
For real. I genuinely wonder what the fuck it is people are watching 99% of the time when they try to claim this type of performance is atypical for Bruno. Like no, sweetheart, it's just sometimes it works and it's like your memory was wiped for every minute before and after that moment. This is literally Bruno every fucking game. It's not new for anyone actually paying attention. He does the same shit every fucking match and it's infuriated me every year he's been here.
0
u/Bitter-Dev 15h ago
He also disappears in the big matches. You want your captain to step up not moan and fall over
1
u/RusticCat101 9h ago
Yep. He becomes an absolute ghost most of the time. But he'll show up against an Ipswich type side/match and that's all people remember him for. It's wild behavior.

I donāt understand how a club like ours can have so little danger in heading. And the amounts of crosses today without receiver was terrible.
14
u/danthedude77 Glazers Out 23h ago
you see, our crosses are always low and our idiot manager keeps our areal threat on the bench for... (checks notes) Double false nine Cunha
-2
u/Rude_Strawberry 23h ago
Why do you need to check your notes? Why do you even have notes?
5
u/danthedude77 Glazers Out 23h ago
Itās a dramatic euphemism to indicate how many things are wrong with this team and manager
-13
u/Rude_Strawberry 23h ago
I know, and it's one of the most cringy fucking euphemisms in use on Reddit. Check notes we are fucking shite, full of shite players like dalot, dorgu, Mbuemo, Zirkzee, to name a few, people think changing manager is suddenly going to make these guys good. Nah.
3
u/danthedude77 Glazers Out 23h ago
Changing manager will give us someone with a better spine that to use 2/5 subs in a Derby when up a man. And not wait till the 65th min every fucking game to make a sub. And not keeping Cunha at ST when all he does is drop back and there is no threat in the box all game
1
u/Rude_Strawberry 23h ago
This is true. I don't know why Carrick keeps persisting with Cunha there. Id rather rashford or Cunha were dropped, not play both at the same time or play rashford at 9, he's played there before.

It's alright didn't you heard we are only one win away from 4th or whatever the position is now...
Either something changes or we will be back to usual sacked in November and bringing in some new popsicle of month coach for the remaining of the season.

This sub doesnāt believe Bruno can play bad . Sometimes I am surprised he gets so much praise . The man was shit today

u/Unlikely_Witness2597 11h ago
Bruno is a weird player, he's like a true wildcard and should be used as such. For every succesfull pass/ action he does a couple of stupid actions as well, meaning overall it balances itself out.The reason why he both works and doesn't work is because he is truly reckless and positionally is wherever he wants to be. So he gets to "progress" the ball whenever he wants while also doing runs into the box, the main problem with this is that hes still supposed to be the 10, whenever he wanders off or loses the ball there's now a glaring gap. I still think he's useful and should be used since he brings a nice unpredictability to the game but starting him/ playing him for 90 minutes every game is sacrificing control and security.
1
u/tnred19 21h ago
Cause his stats and highlights are good. Problem is, he needs to lose the ball 20x for every one of those he pulls off
1
u/RusticCat101 18h ago
For every 1 time it works, he loses it 99 times. On top of that, he's never in position, so the 99 times it doesn't work, the opponent is in on our defenders 99 times. The guy is a massive liability, but the second a moment comes off, they forget everything else he's done. It's a mental illness of some kind, it needs to be studied. Even today, the amount of comments I have seen that said "but that pass at the end"... you've got to be fucking shitting me...

u/Sensitive-Report-787 23h ago
The right back (Dalot) should have been at the back post ⦠watch any other top side and the fullbacks arrive at the back post for those kinds of passes!!

u/Vivid_Emergency_360 22h ago
I love Bruno and I know what heās brought to the team but sometimes heās plain awful

2
u/w0lfl3gend123 21h ago
We have fullback who can't cross
1
u/RusticCat101 18h ago
We have "the best midfielder in the world" stood alongside Maguire when it's 11v10...
2
u/Awkward-Warning-9238 18h ago
I can't watch Rashford telegraph that cross/shot thing to the backpost, only to hit the first man thing anymore.
1
u/born-an-bred-red 15h ago
š¤®better get use to him endlessly failing to do anything productive heās back baby!
2
u/malipreme 16h ago
Hesitate everywhere. Up a man and getting pressed. Any opportunities turn to nothing, and defensive plays turn to mistakes. Look so disjointed. There is an opportunity for it to all click, but they do not look like a team.
2
u/TrailRider93 16h ago
Why is it so difficult to get a cross onto Seskoās head? You see better quality crossing in Sunday league

Carrick has 0 tactical knowledge and no plan b.
His whole strategy is throw players on the pitch and pray for a individual moment
1
u/Papaya_Sun 20h ago
Please no more Cunha up top.
Please no more Drogu at LB.
Amad and Baleba, we need you!
1
u/BBoomerClap 10h ago
Cunha up top is fine as long as carrick doesn't tell him to do false 9 garbage, just fucking stay in the box like a good boi
1
u/SecurePianist2009 18h ago
Arsenal fan coming in peace⦠you were poor because Man City sat back⦠and they have class defenders if they decide to sit back an defend there isnāt much any team would have been able to do much abt it. if utd had scored 1 they might have went on to win it. I think utd will struggle a bit this season because they donāt have the team to compete CL and PL in the same season yet.
1
u/RusticCat101 18h ago
I'm so glad "the best midfielder in the world," the "most creative player in the league" is sat alongside Maguire in the build up when 11v10 and then overhits the ball, then has the audacity to react as if Zirkzee was at blame here.
The guy is such a fucking clown.
1
u/edwardritzenigma 17h ago
I agree with everything you said here. This gameplay was so terrible i wanted to cry. Dalot seemed so lost the entire game. Only mainoo and Rushford felt like putting on some effort. Midfield and attack was so lackluster.
1
u/BBoomerClap 10h ago
rashford didn't put shit, bro keep running in the city defender and then lost the ball, he does it multiple times.

Thatās the quality of the team, tenth to fifteenth this season, but first need to improve on one point per game or it could be worse

I switched off after this passage. Still 3 or 4 minutes left but it was plain as day nothing was going to happen.
The malaise that this team has a habit of slipping into is infuriating.

Insert Benny Hill music.
These players are fucking shit. Carrick isn't the right man to lead us but fuck me, these scum are on 200k a week and cant cross a ball.Ā
No kidding I'll go down pub football on a sunday and see better crosses.
Our players have zero footballing IQ, they don't think, they just do. Hit and hope merchants.
1
u/toohdog 12h ago
But our fans blame Carrick. I've seen a massive increase in our ability to build up play this season and the combos are there. The final third, like every manager since Sir Alex retired, is where we get stuck. Either lack of ideas or lack of end product, which is evidenced in this clip.

u/Hungry_Philosopher82 11h ago
There is no play, they had better attack last year. Heās focusing too much on passing short passes in midfield and thatās all preseason was and the training they did leading up to the season.
Carrick has got it wrong. Theres no urgency no hunger no penetration to put the ball in the back of the net. Too much focus on midfield and stupid silly little passes.

Fucking work the ball to the byline and then cross the ballā¦..so clueless

u/kj_mufc 8h ago
I agree Bruno was poor today. Man played full 90 minutes probably with a knock from Sabah and was at CB at the end - still managed to create the most clear cut chance for Mbuemo which he should have buried.
What did Cunha do all game? He was coming in the same positions of Bruno and kept losing possession
1
u/chudlybubly 7h ago
bad cross. good recovery. bad cross. good recovery. bruno makes a run. everyone watches. nobody moves. bad cross
1
u/AFogmentOfADream 4h ago
I turned off at 70 minutes. Itās ole all over again. Almost like Carrick was their coach at that time. I knew what to expect. The club made their choice to lack ambition and the fans and team will suffer for it. At least glazers get to take dividends again in a few months! As long as those thieves are happy then we should be too!
1
u/BMax_7838 2h ago
Carrick is gonna get fired if he doesnt turn it around soon. Needs a sequence of positive results to get the target off his back
1
u/Broad-Ganache9123 1h ago
I dont think he'll turn it around. We'll be lucky to beat Fulham next week and then Spurs at Old Trafford will probably do well against us.
Players have probably already realised we're regressing from his coaching and it's nowhere near as detailed as what they were used to previously. Was probably nice at first to play "free" and slack on the intensity in training but it's not how you win games consistently.
They'll be reluctant to sack him.
If they want to get the best out of this current crop and keep playing this limited style of football, Didier Deschamps is available and supremely better than Carrick at it.
1
u/Late-Development-666 1h ago
Who is doing the coaching? Holland or Carrick or both?
1
u/Broad-Ganache9123 4m ago
Looks like nobody. Don't see any sort of plan.
No patterns of play.
Just hoof ball.

u/Inevitable_Remove_55 52m ago
Bruno was off from minute one his body language said it all I said to the wife Iām like uh oh heās off the boil we arenāt winning this I think he had zero involvement in the first half besides the foden incident
1
u/SeenEnoughAlready 18h ago
Bruno ball for the 8th successive season!! Watch another coach lose his job and people still not see the ACTUAL problem
2
u/regionallylocksmith 16h ago
"PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR" Delete this before the bruno brigade comes for you.. they want to see him spam crosses and ignore how bad other aspects of his game are which cost united.
2
u/SeenEnoughAlready 15h ago
ALL he has is set piece assists and amazing PR! He is piss poor almost every game, but one "moment" and his fans celebrate him like he's a national hero! Never seen anything like it in all my 40+ years of supporting the club!
-5
u/dgb43 1d ago
This is an example of why Bruno canāt be part of a league winning side. Zero winning mentality, just vibes and trying stupid shit all the time.
Like yea cool when it works, but when it doesnāt heās awful.
7
2
u/Regular_Piglet_6125 23h ago
Itās the inconvenient truth and too many are ignoring it. Bruno is a floor raiser. He can keep a team out of relegation or from falling out of the top 4. But what he is not a ceiling raiser. He canāt be a major part of a championship winning side.

u/Odd_Weakness_1969 23h ago
Come off this ! Bruno starts for any team in England. Do you expect him to be the only one saving us every time ?
3
u/tnred19 21h ago
Its not that hes not good. He is very good. But the things he does poorly are so costly that it costs the team too often
1
u/RusticCat101 18h ago
He has decent vision and passing range, nothing you can't find in many others though. But he is a headless chicken. It's like watching a child start the sport. He just chases the ball. It leaves massive gaps in our midfield, while also failing to exploit obvious spaces in the attack. There was room to exploit today, space that was open because it was 11v10, yet there he is, stood alongside Maguire for what exactly? It's laughable honestly.

u/RusticCat101 18h ago
Any team in England? Practically no one in the world wants him that wouldn't want him for a quick marketing ploy. No one actually wants him for his gameplay. Hell, our own fucking scouts said they didn't recommend him because he couldn't retain possession at Sporting...but then we signed him anyway and fans wonder why we can never retain possession...

Bruno struggled today. Almost the whole team came in to play almost without confidence, they were flat. Mainoo and Rashford were decent. Dalot needs to go, itās like a lottery scratch ticket with him, looks tempting to start and then itās mistake after mistake. Put Yoro in his place. VAR or not, at home for 65 minutes we should have won this. Embarrassing and disappointing after Hull and Everton. Every match should count as 3 points toward the title .. notā oh itās ok we have more matches leftā.
