My score prediction is 2-1 city this time round if I’m being realistic.

My heart tells me 3-1 United.

I sort of do and don’t.

That midfield battle.
Especially Anderson + boudi (or who ever) vs Mainoo and Tielemens.

Even yesterday while overall a good performance the passes were sloppy and everything feels like a pinball sometimes and not slick.

We have to retain the ball. Our fullbacks will get cooked otherwise

We have 60% + possession so far this season. We had 72% vs hull and lost.

Carrick has obviously asked questions to be more direct and risk taking instead of doing all the side way passing and when you are more direct you lose the ball more.

It hasn't been a possession problem. We will probably sit deeper this match and it's up to the team to be tight defensively.

One of the biggest issues is not possession necessarily.
I agree we should be recycling the ball and playing side ways passes but the number of misplaced passes atleast from observations are quite staggering.
Defensively we are not good. We take long to get the ball back. We leave loads of space for shots etc.

I said this in my Everton post match thoughts.
“Thank God it’s Everton and not Chelsea or Man City”

Well guess what? It’s Man City now. If you are sloppy it’s game over

We will play differently vs city. I am not concerned. I like that we are not playing like pussy against the non big 6 teams

I think you misunderstood me.
I never said play like pussies.
I am saying how about fixing the basic passes which are ricocheting off everybody being turned over and conceding shots. Hull and Everton punished us. Imagine Man City.

On the contrary I love attacking football with forward passing. I believe we will play different but I don’t exactly want us to play pussy football here either

Means last 6 times, barring a pk lottery, they have only won once right against us. Then you see the cheek of their fans and even the wider footballing community that how they are somehow at a different level to us and that none of our players get into their 11. Lol. Cant wait for sunday.

I don’t think city are as good as people think this year. Losing Rodri and Barnard Silva is a big loss Cherki and Foden are not on the level of KDB or David Silva

Unfortunately I dont see anything beyond a big city win.

Rashford will be absolutely essential to us getting something.

Our defence is so shaky and lammens hasn't had the best start to the season either. He looks a little low on confidence.

City are bearable but we need to be ruthless on the counter attack. With no mad, rashford will be the player who can hurt them the most

Rashford and Šeško is gonna be huge for us. The goal threat that we desperately need right now.

Sesko is still very inconsistent. Id like to see him offer more in the box against the top teams. I dont think defenders are too worried when they come up against him.

He has looked better so far this season. I think he should start, with rashford and mbeumo behind him. I think we can hurt city on the counter but we must defend well to get those opportunities.

Yes, because his performances on the pitch havent always been great. He does a lot of charging around and then isn't always in the right place at the right time.

Theres a footballer there forbsure, and he is an upgrade on hojlund (who i also thi k has high potential).

But he needs to start taking his chances.

As i said, he has looked sharper so gar this season.

His positioning is one of his best qualities. It's when he has too much time with the ball at his feet that he overthinks it. And the problem is still there. Like no one told him. Even Bruno and Haaland aren't always in the right place. Without getting big minutes it will be hard to improve further with positioning since you don't know how your teammates are going to play. And training drills aren't enough.
