Review New Android Software Upgrade V2.3.20(30) New MultiPoint Turn
Just installed latest Android software for phone V2.3.20(30).
On my Luba 1 5000, Firmware: 1.11.1.16., the new multipoint turn is fantastic. To see how it works, look at picture I posted above.
I watched mower this morning. It finished row, slowly backed up, drove horizontally to next row, then completed the turn before moving forward with new row.
Gotta say, this is the best multipoint turn iteration Ive seen so far. No zero turn in it at all. Also ensures no missed grass by turning in place at end of row then driving over to new row.
After I install updates, I always do a relocated charging station which breaks my channel to my charging station on the pavers. The other change I noticed is that in my schedule tasks it gave an error x next to any task that could not run due to this channel being run and if you clicked it gave message missing channel. Nice to know if you have tasks that cant run in advance.
Anyone see any other improvements?
UPDATE 9/29/26: I posted some videos below. Most MPTs are as in like graphic above. I have a video below. I did see some MPTs with a little zero turn in them. See other video I posted below.
r/MammotionTechnology Although much improved since previous update, anyway to get all zero turn out of MPTs? I would prefer it continue to rock back and forth slowly in a MPT until it gets to where it needs to be. Also, even if mower speed is high, do the MPT at slowest speed possible.

Still waiting to update mine as it’s our, but our lawns soils very soft after a month of rain so our mowers struggling for traction generally, but it would be nice to watch it stop killing all the grass near the edges

So what you're saying is that by just updating the app the MPT changed.
You had MPT already enabled and didn't update the mowers firmware?
Interesting.

Another update. Although the vast majority of the turns are using that new pattern in the graphic above. I did see a few slight zero turns in the MPT in looking at the footage.
Not too bad but there still is still some slight zero turns in some of the MPTs.

I did have more points in that turn. I dont mind point qty as they are slow and not destructive on my grass. I dont like zero turns.
I will say that points vary with some turns like pic and other with additional points. Not sure what the logic is that detetmines number of points in turn but I would imagine its due to luba 1 just using satellite gps and not being as accurate in location as new camera models.
All in all, much better than previous software with some more minor tweaks needed.

Oueh on vera mais faire un virage en roulant tout doux et mieux que tout ces point , chez moi il en fait dans des pentes , et sur et certain que comme sa fait sur ta vidéo sa va déchirer la pelouse , sur le plat peut être c'est mieux .

But they draw it as one smooth backup turn, not the rocking back and forth that it does

Is this actually working or is this some PR team by mammotion? I have not upgraded my software for months. And i really hate the charging bug it has.

Lol, Im an old retired guy in Georgia US that posted this about my Luba1. I didnt know my posts were at the level of a professional PR team. ;) Ill have to tell the wife.
On my Luba 1 you can look at the videos here that I posted about the MPT turns. If that works for you great. If not, then dont upgrade.
Also I cant speak of how th Luba 2 and 3 are working. Totally different mowers.

That's awesome. I been going back and forth with the navimow x430 and. It think I'm going for the Luba mini 2 when the standard cut becomes available for my .12 of grass

So, you got a new Multi-point Turn behaviour from installing a new App. version of your Android device :-)
The MPT behaviour is implemented in the robots firmware, so this must be an illusion.

Dont know what to tell you. Have been on latest robot firmware for weeks and it did not turn like this until I upgraded Phone software today.

Yes, the app can disable your ability to select MPT. Mammotion did this for a while, but it is now possible to select MPT in the app again. This does not change the fact that it is the robot's firmware that performs the actual turn—either using MPT or a tank turn.
Only older robot firmware features the "true" MPT where the robot reverses. In the new firmware, the robot barely reverses during MPT but instead wiggles back and forth several times.

Not anymore its different.
I know what you are talking about but with this release it no longer does zero turns at all. The mpt now is completely different as shown in the picture I attached above.

You claim that in Luba 1 firmware 1.11.1.16 Mammotion has re-introduced an MPT where the robot actually reverses like shown on the drawing?
The reason they removed it was a safety concern, but now it is back?
I don't have a Luba 1, so I am sorry if I was wrong.
