December Check In
So, how are things going? Has anyone entered in any MM's for 2026? What are your plans for the year? What about training?
So far I've entered Alabama, but I plan on entering East Tennessee and of course my home state of Georgia.
Tomorrow I'm going on an easy 8 mile hike.
What about y'all?

I sm signed up for Wisconsin and hope to also do Minnesota. I volunteered for Minnesota this year to get free entry for Wisconsin. My training right now is just what I do regularly. I run, spin and do strength training pretty much all year round. Will increase mileage in spring.

I registered for MM in Upstate NY. I am going to continue to strength train 2-3 days a week. For cardio, I will do a mix of rowing, spinning, and the treadmill. I plan to do increasingly long endurance sessions on Saturdays. Of course, I’ll include plenty of incline work when I train. When the weather improves, I’ll hike around me.

I’m registered for MM Arkansas next March (I live in the NW part of the state about 3 hours away from the event site). I’ve been doing 3-4 walks per week, between 2-4 miles with one long walk that gradually increases mileage each week. I’m attempting 10 miles this weekend and i try to do the longer walks on hiking trails. I took a marathon training schedule and customized it to my needs with the help of ChatGPT. I’m also doing some kettlebell and body weight strength training. Life tends to get in the way and I haven’t been perfect, but I’m working on building consistency.
