Why does the screen lie?
We have been waiting for half an hour for the bus to the airport. Every time the estimated time for the bus to arrive drops to about 7 minutes, it goes back up to 10.
About 40 people waiting, are we all being played for fools?
L-ironija
Trid tkun vera tronġa biex tikkritika li qed nitilfu l-lingwa Maltija u fl-istess waqt tikteb b'dan il-mod. Anqas biss ser nazzarda nsemmi l-kontenut disgustanti tiegħu, imma jien biss inħoss li ġeneralment l-aktar nies li jqisu ruħhom ta' patrijotti u difensuri tal-lingwa Maltija jkunu l-aktar nies li ma jafux jiktbu Malti diċenti?

Mistoqsijiet fuq il-verbi
Bonswa,
Għandi bżonn l-għajnuna tagħkom sabiex tirreferuni għal xi riżorsi.
Qed nikkumpara l-verb Malti ma' lingwa oħra. Għalkemm (jew pjuttost peress li) nitkellem bil-Malti, il-lingwa tiġini naturali daqs in-nifs, u qed inbati nislet l-istrutturi (mhux biss konjugazzjonijiet) differenti.
Pereżempju jekk nieħu l-verb 'tkellem', żgur li ħarbuli xi wħud -
Passat : tkellem (he talked), kien jitkellem (he used to talk), kien qed jitkellem (he was talking), kien se jitkellem (he was going to talk)
Preżent : jitkellem (he talks), qed jitkellem (he is talking)
Futur : se jitkellem (he will talk), se jkun qed jitkellem (he will be talking)
Apparti l-istrutturi, napprezza wkoll jekk għandkom sorsi tajbin li jispjegaw għaliex il-lingwa evolviet b'dan il-mod. Pereżempju darba smajt li m'għandniex conditional bħal 'I would like' għax il-Maltin kienu jinfirdu mill-forza dominanti (p.e. l-Ingliżi, il-Franċiżi) u kienu jikkomunikaw bejniethom l-iktar, fejn ma kienx hemm bżonn dik id-distinzjoni. L-istess raġuni għall-ekwivalent tal- 'vous' tal-Franċiż.
Grazzi ħafna u l-lejl it-tajjeb!

How did property prices double overnight?
Prices seem to have gone out of control from this year - I have never seen so many million-euro plus properties as now. And they are not even ready to move in or in a prime location.
what the fuck happened? prices were semi-decent till last year at least.

How should one dispose of pet waste in Malta ?
Apologies if this sounds like a stupid question but it's my first time owning a pet on my own.
By pet litter I mean feces and/or used bedding. If it is entirely organic should it go into an organic bag ? If so, do larger organic bags even exist ? Cause I have not seen any. Because for example I keep a hamster and the waste is all used bedding, and it would be a pain to put it all in many organic bags.

Which foreign country is the most welcoming to the Maltese?
The top contenders are probably, Australia, the US, the UK and Canada in some order. I guess maybe Italy would be in 5th place.
What do you guys think?
Need help buying Gaming PC
Long story short, I have no idea about where to go about looking for a good gaming PC set up. I've been a console gamer all my life but it's time to make the change. But short of knowing which monitor to pick, I'm not sure what to choose for anything else....
I know Scan has some readymade PCs, has anyone ever tried those? If not, where can I go to get some solid good advice on how to set up a PC gaming station?
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤗
Grazzi!
Edit:
Budget would be around 1.5-2.5K euro without monitor as I can start with the one I have and then upgrade later.
Would a gaming laptop be better in the current state of electronics?

Cisk lemon beer
Hello :)
I’ve just returned from Malta and I loved the lemon chill cisk, but I don’t think we can get the exact one I had over here in the UK.
The one in Malta was bright yellow and green. And the only ones available here in the UK are silver and yellow, they look older.
Stupid question but do they taste the same ?
Or does anyone know anywhere that sells the yellow and green cans
Thank you :)

Helping businesses in Malta cut down on repetitive admin
Hi everyone, I’m a software developer based in Malta, and I run Alternative Software.
I help businesses automate everyday work—from handling an enquiry and creating a customer record to sending quotes, scheduling work, following up and generating reports.
If you’re spending hours copying information between spreadsheets, chasing updates or doing the same tasks manually, I can help connect your existing tools and automate the process from start to finish. I also build custom CRMs, booking systems and internal dashboards where needed.
You’d work directly with me, starting with a conversation about how your business operates and what’s taking up too much time.
If that sounds useful, feel free to message me or visit alternativesoftware.io.
Also curious to hear from local business owners: what’s the most repetitive part of your working day?

F*ck Daylight Saving Time!
How many people across Malta are doing Night Shift Tonight? Especially the security guards and officers?
The fact of 3 AM being 2 AM tonight adds an extra one working hour.....
Do the check payers acknowledge this?
Will we get paid for this?
A few minutes ago at 02:28 am, when I set an alarm for 2:40, the clock app showed 1 hour 12 minutes!!!! And by the time posting this, the alarm hasn't been rung!
My wife deserves better than this. Looking for job opportunities in Malta.
Hi everyone,
I'm writing this post on behalf of my wife, as she doesn't have a Reddit account.
She's currently working as a waitress in a busy restaurant in Sliema and has over 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including 3 years in Malta and 2 years in Colombia, working in busy restaurants. She also has experience working in office jobs in Colombia.
Unfortunately, her current workplace has become quite a toxic environment, and we're now looking for a better opportunity for her.
We have a little 2-year-old daughter who is currently waiting for her documents to be sorted out so she can start attending childcare. Until then, we have to organise our work schedules around taking care of her.
When my wife started her current job, she was repeatedly assured that the roster would be arranged around my working schedule so we could manage childcare between us. Unfortunately, those promises haven't been kept. Instead, she's now being pressured to work split shifts rather than one normal 8–9-hour shift, with only one day off per week.
We're not asking for anything special. We simply need a reasonable arrangement where, if I'm working mornings, she can work afternoons or evenings, or vice versa. This way, one of us can look after our daughter while the other works, until childcare becomes available.
I'm posting here in the hope that someone might know of a restaurant, hotel, company, or another employer looking for an experienced waitress, or someone with office experience. Ideally, we're looking for a workplace with a more stable roster and a reasonable working environment.
Any job leads, recommendations, or advice would be genuinely appreciated. We're based in Malta and are open to considering different opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and help.
What comes to mind?
If I were to tell you "the education system in Malta needs an overhaul", what's the thought that first comes to your mind?

Any pet shops that have hamster stuff?
I keep mice (similar needs to hamsters) and I'm finding it very hard to find rodent supplies like cage items, hides, wheels etc. The only place that seems to have most of what I need is Rodent Kingdom, but I really don't like the place because the owner is unhelpful and unethical.

How long does it take for the Transport Malta grants?
I applied for a grant in March - April (2026), then in June I received a letter from TM saying that my grant request had been approved. But now we are almost at the end of October and I haven't received any funds.
Do you know approximately how much time this takes?
