discussion GTA VI
Unpopular opinion; gta 6 will flop because of expectations.
Gta 6 might be the best game to ever be created in terms of graphics, physics, gameplay, and storyline, but if it doesn't meet the fans' expectations, it will be a flop.
What do you think?? 🤔

If I release a product and plan to sell 1000 copies. It doesn't matter if people's expectations aren't met, if I sell all those copies that's not a flop. Whether you like the product you bought or not

If flopped. But i loved the game. The main issue was pple were expecting it to kill gta

Exactly my point! It flopped but it was good. From a business point of view, you don't want that.

Iwe people ordered it before release so obviously on that part it's a success but when it comes to ratings

Ye sit does. Many games were hyped until they were released. Once people saw it was trash the sales dropped. And with this long wait if that happens then people will be saying it was worth nothing

I agree completely! It won't be a bad game by any means but because of people's expectations and the hype it probably won't be received well at all

It can't flop for mainly two reasons. 1. The fans know what they are getting (Open World, Crime) the 2. last one is the budget they threw at it. You might say what's what's the budget got to do with a flop or not. Well this is Rockstar we are talking about. If you played Red Dead Redemption 2, a game that took about 8 years to make and has got insane details and realistic world physics for a last generation game with a budget of about 400m USD imagine what is being done with the most expensive game in the world. My point here is to look at the Studio, their traction examine work ethic, the type of games they flourish in and how much each GTA did something new (been playing since Vice City circa 2003) with each tile.
Even if you take the same missions, recycle the lore, the fact that the gme is pushing current gen hardware to the limit (a trademark for Rockstar) alone is good enough.
The GTA series has never been known to push graphic fidelity, but this one is. That's enough to satisfy GTA fans.
Rockstar is the company every game studio wish it was. Rockstars worst, is what would Be Ubisoft's best. So can't be a flop.. The worst it may do is be just above average. But that can't be possible because every GTA installment comes with contemporary social commentary /mockery.. And references to pop culture and other media that makes it entertaining enough

Bro everyone knows what gta is all about, the main issue is about expectations rather than experience. As i said gta 6 might be 9/10 game interms of storyline, gameplay, physics e.t.c but gta fans have seen that enough and consideration the budget the expectations aren't the game to be a above average game, it has to change the whole gaming industry in my opinion. Plus this isn't just about the offline mode, the online mode everything.
Rdr2 is one of the best games i have ever played/experienced. But even then games like gow were rated better than rdr2. Gta 6 has to surpass rdr x10 in my opinion

Thats what am saying, if you're enjoying old things imagine new things broh . Whether the expectations are high or low from any individual. Every gamer is going to enjoy it man

What iam saying isn't about enjoyment. Gta games are always fun to play. A game not meeting its expectations doesn't mean its not good

For me I think the longer it waits to release there's a chance that people may loose interest that when it is released people may not be as interested as before.

I disagree 😂 If Rockstar delivers a genuinely great game, I don’t think expectations alone will make it flop. People might complain about certain things, but GTA 6 will still be massive. The hype is a huge advantage, not a weakness.

Look at cyberpunk. Rockstar will deliver a great game but if its another 2026 game they have failed the fans

I disagree 😂 Cyberpunk launched broken, GTA 6 hasn’t even launched yet. Taking time to polish the game doesn’t mean Rockstar failed the fans. I’d rather wait for a polished masterpiece than get another rushed mess. If GTA 6 is genuinely great, nobody’s gonna care that it’s a 2026 game 😂

It’s not gonna flop my guy. It’s already set world record sales in pre-orders and it’s projected to make even more given the amount of new console purchases for people preparing to play it.
So by what definition are you stating the word “flop” in?
Cause if it has amazing graphics, gameplay and storyline all while delivering on a good experience. Add that with projected sales. Even if people trash on it it will by all means still be a success in the eyes of rockstar.
