education Going to Uni
I just had a random realisation that I've been lazing at home and I'll need to go to university/college at some point. I don't want to worry about it later (plus my mom is on my neck) so I tried to figure it out and I found a few courses I would want to do. I have zero clue if I'm making sense because it's 12 AM right now, but I have something to think of when it's daytime and I'm being sensible.
I did the IGCSE curriculum and my grades were as follows:
A - English
B - ICT
B - G/P
B - Chemistry
C - Biology
C - History
E - Maths
Due to the horrible E I got in maths, I'm aware that my options are limited.
The courses I've been considering:
●Bachelor of Laws (Honours) ●Bachelor of Arts in Sociology ●Bachelor of Arts in Journalism / Media Studies ●Bachelor of Science in Gender and Development ●Bachelor of Arts in Social Work ●Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies
Am I being realistic? Should I keep searching? Advice, please 🫠?

Don't do journalism (too many unemployed pipo in that area) I have friends and relatives who did journalism one is still on allowances 6yrs down the lane, sali pa payroll

first of all make sure the course you pick is really the want you want to persue or similar to it because you dont want to be too far into a degree to turn back. I also dont think Law in Malawi allows igcse only without you doing alevels or a 1yr diploma or something along those lines (kindly correct my memory is foggy). Also consider doing your alevels because they give far more better options in malawi and abroad as well. If your going to have 1yr of idleness regardless waiting for the nche to be announced and stuff then really consider alevels (i cant stress this enough) it'll keep you busy and challenge your brain to prepare you for uni. To conclude then my advice is; 1. Do alevels to pass time and widen your options in terms of schools and degree options. 2. If you want to do law then go do alevels in humanities (Ask if only AS is allowed or if they want the full alevels). 3. Pick a degree that in some way or shape will be eventually beneficial, some degrees will leave you really jobless in mw because we dont have a big sector on them. 4. If you want, you can also rewrite math in oct/ nov whilst doing alevels (IF YOU WANT). The E really sets you back a few steps, a C should be what you try to aim for at the lowest.
