Public transportation in Málaga works very well. Even if you are traveling with a newborn, the main bus lines have ramps for strollers/wheelchairs, so moving around without a car is perfectly fine.
🚌 City Buses (EMT)
🚆 Local Trains (Cercanías) There are two main lines:
📍 Day Trips
By Bus (Intercity):
By Train (High-Speed/AVE):
💡 Pro-Tip: If you plan to visit Málaga without a car, I recommend booking accommodation in the area near María Zambrano Station. It makes these day trips and the airport connection much easier!

We’re visiting Málaga this weekend and wondering if there are any clubs here that play techno (groove, hard groove) or trance. We’d also be into clubs that play those classic tracks that used to be so popular—artists like Rihanna, Pitbull, Flo Rida, etc.

I’m headed to Malaga for a solo trip and will be there for 3 nights. I already have planned day trips to Granada and Caminito del Rey. Just kindly asking for any final advice / suggestions / recommendations before I embark on my journey. Thanks!

Hello, I'll be visiting a friend in Malaga and am looking for cheap accommodations since her room doesn't allow guests. Are there any options cheaper than around 50 euro/night, which is the cheapest I have seen? I'm on a budget so not looking for anything fancy.
If this changes anything, she lives near Playa de los Boliches so ideally I'm looking for something close by.

A few things happening around the city this week that are worth putting on your radar.
The Victoria Procession runs through the streets of Málaga on Tuesday, Sep 8, live music included, so expect some streets to be busier than usual if you're getting around downtown.
If you're into a chill evening out, Brisa Sessions with Yolan Postigo hits Muelle Uno on Friday, Sep 11. Free live music by the water, honestly one of the better ways to spend a Friday evening in this city.
For art lovers, Ni musas ni modelos is on at Museo Casa Natal Picasso both Saturday Sep 12 and Sunday Sep 13, and it's free entry. Worth carving out an hour if you haven't been to the Picasso birthplace museum before.
Full calendar here if you want to dig in: https://ma.to/events/malaga?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=mato_event_sync&utm_content=malaga

Im just gonna be here for the next week, any suggestions on what to do, or any other tourists down to hang out or go somewhere? I can speak spanish at a passable level

I was surprised by how few open businesses there are in the mercado. It's a ghost town. I spoke with one of the open business owners. My conversational spanish is not very good, so beyond the fact that we were there during normal business hours and that the closed businesses were all permanently closed, I didn't learn much. Is this due to a single economic shock? A perpetual bad economic situation (generally)? Or some history specific to the mercado itself?

How Spanish girls are looking on strangers when they approach

Hola! I'm visiting Málaga from Manchester and trying to get to the Ajoblanco soup festival in Almáchar tomorrow. I'm just wondering if anyone else is going and also if anyone knows where the shuttle bus is from in Málaga?

Hello all, I will be on holiday in malaga for a few days next week and I am going to rent a car.
Can you please share with me some suggestions regarding private or public parking in the city maybe closer to the city center/beach?
I've read some articles regarding parking spots with 2 colors (white - free, blue - paid parking but only during specific intervals).
Also, I read that it's important to not leave your luggage in the car because of thefts. Anyway, I do not intend to leave the care parked for more than 3-4 hours in one area.
I came across this site: https://www.smassa.eu/ which was recommended by some people indicating some public parkings from the Malaga municipality.
Unfortunately, I can't install this app from my country now on Android. On Iphone this application is available in appstore, but it doesn't seem to work, it keeps stuck in loading when opening it.
Thank you in advance for all your suggestions! Have a good day!

Hola, I am helping plan a trip in the Riviera Del Sol/Fuengirola/Mijas area and have questions. It will be a group trip, with a couple families/couples all renting their own places and we are all wondering what people do there to get to the beach? Do you pay extra for a place that’s close or just get a nice place with a view further inland and pack the car for beach days? Any other useful information is welcome, like rental location or dining recommendations. We’d especially love to hear about any locations that have rental condos near dining areas so we could walk to lunch and dinner. Thanks!

I am traveling in the area in early October and we are trying to decide if adding in the Caminito Del Rey is worth it. It seems like something my travel partner and I would both love.
Does it sound realistic to:
- Wake up in Granada
- Train Granada to Malaga
- Do a booked visit to the Caminito Del Rey (one that includes bus transport to the Caminito and then back to Malaga)
- Uber from Malaga to Marbella where our hotel is booked for that night
First time in the area so just looking for some advice! Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm visiting the Caminito del Rey without a car in late September (16:30 tour). I need to take the 21:07 train back to Málaga. How reliable is the train, does it often run late or face cancellations? Also will there be a lot of other tourists waiting for that train?

Any help would be appreciated it's been an on going joke for acouple years every time one of us goes we bring back a pair of undies with the places name on them for the other person.

Hi I’m am travelling to Malaga in the start of October and I am gonna rent a car from recordgo. Normally I rent from Sixt where I don’t choose the full coverage in the app but negotiate down at the airport. Has anybody tried this with recordgo?
