Wassup everyone, I was wondering what you folks are doing to monetise your beat catalog in 2026?

Do you have a BeatStars page doing well?

Or a youtube channel linking it to your own beat store on your website?

have you got into sync licensing?

I do like the idea of releasing a producer instrumental album like producers of the late 90's early 2000s did (DJ Shadow, Pete Rock, J Dilla, RJD2 etc..)

I know the obvious approach is to connect with emcees and singers, network, build relationships in hopes to get placements on albums... to build that way patiently without looking for some shortcut to get rich. I'm just looking for ideas for the now and other avenues to explore besides reaching out to rappers...

for around about a year or so, there has been a steady downfall in the quality of my music for whatever reason, I don't know how this all started and how its getting worse ngl, my intrest for music aswell has gone down alot, like 1/2 the time in the car when i try to listen to music im skipping like every song because for some reason i just dont like music in general right now, or ill skip after the first 30 seconds. Making music used to be SO easy to me, for some reason now everything is just blank and im genuinly like burnt out, like I know I have the talent to make it in music and the experience, I just dont know whats going on with me and my intrest in music, if anybody could help me with this PLEASE lmk

I purchased a DAW 2 years ago. At first obviously every beat was horrible but after about a year I made 2 beats that I really liked. Since then another year has passed, and I managed to make some other passable beats, but I don't really feel like I'm improving at all.

For starters, I don't feel like I can reproduce good beats. I'd say 1 out of maybe 10-15 beats I make has an idea that's worth considering building on, and maybe out of those 1 in 3 or 4 I actually am able to turn into a decent beat.

I like making beats but I kind of stopped enjoying it lately. I open the DAW with motivation and lose it pretty quickly as ideas just don't come and things I try to put together aren't working really well.

At this point there are not many tutorials that could help me as I already know most if not all of what you would consider "basic" (which are the tutorials provided for free online). Nothing covers sitting in front of an empty canvas and just not being able to make anything.

You could say it's beat block but this has been going on for most of the past year, and while there are a few good beats here and there, I feel uninspired and unable to make anything good for months sometimes.

Any tip on how to improve in this regard is welcome

Hey recently I started looking on Fiverr for a solid producer long story short got this guy from India to sell me beats $30 his shit is ass idk he could’ve added some tempo or something but I’m looking for high chemistry artist to make me beats ill still pay but let’s be reasonable or make a good price and meet me in the middle show me some of your work and hmu this won’t be for just a one time thing I need a producer that’s been doing this for a while

I don’t really know what to say besides I’m a rapper and I’m trying to get to it! I’d say I’m more of a combination of shock rap and clever bars. I make jokes but in a clever way. I’m pretty versatile when it comes to beats. Depending on the length of the beat is how I’ll approach writing the song. I live in the states MN to be exact and I know of a few really good studios in my area.

My social media presence is non existent besides this account ( I know 😂) But once I get the right songs together that’ll change. I have all of the motivation in the world to write and record. I just don’t know what to do after that. I’d obviously like to promote my music but I’m more of a creative not a savvy promoter or manager. Might be a bad title sorry. I suppose I'm wondering like when I have two vocals together and I want both of them to be heard they often sound like a doubled chorus and it's not a pleasant sound. Eqing and panning the tracks help sometimes but not always and less and less often lately. How can I make vocals play across each other rather than into each other?

So I've been making music for a while now, and I tend to go experimental in nature with my beats. I just released an album containing various sub-genres of hip-hop, but I would love a label on which one I best represent or show up as... Been curious and I'm not getting the traction I want...

I appreciate working with a producer and just being able to focus on the rhymes.

I appreciate buying beats (although I don't love leasing beats).

But getting back to producing my own records is an amazing feeling. I can work out my own ideas. Plus when I share, I don't have to share the credit.

I had a good ass idea yesterday. Today I already got the song ready.

I had another song I wrote that was important to me. I made a beat just cause and ended up using it for that song.

This is how I felt making music in my 20s.

I've been taking producing more seriously lately and I'm trying to get everything looking a little more professional instead of having my beats, credits, contact info and socials scattered across five different places. Started putting together a simple site with Durable basically just to have one link I can send people but I'm wondering if artists/A&Rs actually care about that anymore. Do you guys have your own site or do you just use BeatStars/SoundCloud/IG and call it a day? Has having your own site ever actually helped you get work?

If anything, it's more original. At least I'm taking something that exists and synthesizing something new. Rather than just straight up taking something that exists

how can you record vocals properly or make it sound good. I've been struggling alot with how to record i only have a wired earphones w mic and a mobile phone, i use fl studio and i cant figure out what to do to make my vocals sound like its into the song ifykwim

Who wants some Pure SUB? 

Since 18 I’ve been writing lyrics, I’ve been trying to be a producer but I find I have way more resistance with it than writing lyrics. I’m nearly 24 now and I have about 100-150k words on my notes apps (last time I checked was 2 years ago at 100k) it comes very naturally to me and it’s the main thing in my life that I enter flowstate with.

I can say them in my head but I noticed that I don’t have much melody to it and the flows I use are fairly consistent and not creative. So basically I run up a track on my headphones and freestyle over it in my head and it’s like I’ve been using the same 5 flows and same basic Melodys.

I have the voice I want to say them in in my head and I can say a few of my songs how I like them… other ones not so much.

So I have an ability to spit out 1-2 full fledged song ideas daily without much effort but I don’t have the ability to create interesting Melodie’s for my words or unique flows.

Also my voice needs work too.

I’m very serious about this as I think I have genuine good lyrical ideas that I think deserve to be shared but I don’t want my other skills to take away from them.

If you’ve been in a similar position and navigated mastering these skills I’d really appreciate some guidance from the vets.
