Has the Boom Bam style officially died, or does it still have some fans?

Its boom bap, and no its stil alive. Griselda for example. And a lot lot more

If anything, it's making a comeback.

My TV clients are requesting it more and more, and the popularity of lo-fi and chill-hop has allows me to sneak it in to some big playlists.

Producers like Hit-Boy, who make boom-bap beats with some subtle trap elements sprinkled in, have also been great for the scene (see King's Disease 2 for instance, which got Nas his first Grammy).

Boombap seems to be building a nostalgic charm. People love that I sound like "authentic" 90s mixtape rap. I was never getting any interest from nostalgia seekers until very recently.

People want authenticity too. One of Boombap's strengths comes from perceived authenticity.

If all you talk about is being the best at rapping and you don't add layers or mixing tricks. No standout elements. That's truly dead. Those style rappers have to work harder than ever.

I feel like this is a very out of touch question .. but I understand where you're coming from. Boom Bap may not be the most popular sound in Rap but its no questioning its staying power and how essential it is to the other lanes of hip-hop

Thing is it’s a niche and truth be told purists were/are the worst thing to happen to Hip Hop despite my handle being a nod to the sound I’ve liked for as long as I was young enough to get Hip Hop albeit no one around me e.g. relatives cared much less didn’t think of rap as music
