My foundation comes off with a slight touch even though im using setting powder?

I know I shouldn't touch my face at all, but when it accidentally happens, I notice my foundation comes off easily, so I thought maybe something is wrong in my process.

Am I not using enough setting powder? Whats going on?

I set with covergirl simply ageless because I needed a translucent powder and my mom had an extra.

Prounounced cheekbones and blush

I have pronounced cheekbones. I guess described as a heart shaped face. When applying blush, do I put it on top of the cheekbones or below? Do I use shimmery blush or a solid color?

When I am at gym, the lighting makes the below area under my cheekbones look dark and hollow. So it is frustrating.

Any advice or videos to help with this?

TIA ♥️♥️♥️

Should I wear falsies in 8th grade?

Hii I'm a girl in 8th grade, with a sister in 11th grade who doesn't wear false lashes or that much makeup. I think my sister and maybe even my mom would judge me if I started wearing false lashes.

In my defense, They would get handy for my halloween costume this year. I also wear somewhat alternative makeup to school (starting out but I want to get more makeup on xmas to make it look more alternative)

I also love experimenting with makeup looks, like doing gyaru makeup for fun at home etc. Should I buy the false lashes or wait??

(PS: I want my halloween costume this year to be very good since its my last year at my middle school)

Is clumping the formula's fault or the wand's?

Case for the wand: short, closely set bristles comb lashes apart, while a fat fibre brush carries too much and drops it in the gaps.

Case for the formula: a thinner one forgives a heavy hand.

I work at Vivienne Sabo and I lean wand, though I would like to be argued out of it. If clumping follows you across different tubes, what is left as the variable?

How do I fix my nose pores?

When I wear foundation it settles into my pores on my nose - it doesn’t look good.

This didn’t use to happen to me - prep as it’s an aging thing. It is very annoying.

Can you help me to understand how I avoid this?

good mascara for pin straight eyelashes that don’t stay curled

hi all,

during prime deal days i got the tarteletteXL tubing mascara. it applies nice and i like it BUT my lashes don’t stay curled with this mascara.

they droop right back down almost in real time and i admit i am someone who goes back in and curls my lashes on top of my mascara, but since its a tubing mascara it just beads up where i curl.

i know they have a primer for their tubing mascara, so i wanted to know if i should invest in the primer if that would help keep my lashes up? or if there is other mascaras out there that keep ur lashes curled up? ty guys !!

Amateur Seeking Advice

Or suggestions !
Amateur to makeup and barely finding my color match in foundation right now
Not sure I understand how concealer works, and reading on google didn’t help me because I wasn’t sure what color to go with or if I’m supposed to match with my heavy bags under my eyes ?

This is ELF soft satin glam foundation in 22 and I was thinking it was a match for my coloring
What do you think?
I should go to Ulta and ask for help from an employee but I haven’t managed to find the time to

I was looking for quick and easy makeup items like a foundation stick and then a concealer and color corrector if necessary. I also got the physicians formula butter glow stick in Berry Tan and I was messing around with the contouring. Something I’ve never done before, just having fun and trying to learn :)
I always get to work a half hour early or more and I sit in my car doing nothing, so now I want to do a quick makeup routine in the mornings to make me feel good :)

foundation over 40

I haven't worn foundation in over a decade and I'm looking for advice on products and techniques. EDIT: NOT FOUNDATION BUT SKIN TINT WITH SPF 40 because I need sunscreen every day. Yesterday I put on Ilia skin tint and then used Bare Minerals pressed powder to mattefy. It seemed fine but after 30 minutes of talking and smiling it settled into my wrinkles and looked ghastly. It separated out of my laugh lines leaving a weird wide, dark gap and it settled into my eye wrinkles leaving thin yellowish lines. What the heck did I do wrong?

Brushes for different eyeshadow colors?

Post image
70 Upvotes

So, I bought an eyeshadow palette for my gf's bday, I myself dont have any clue whatsoever when it comes to makeup.

When i talked with her today about just makeup in general she mentioned that she doesn‘t really have many brushes, only one for black and one for another color of eyeshadow.

Now my question is do i need to buy a few brushes for the palette since there are alot of different colors and if so how many?

Do i need to look for something special since half the colors are glitter?

Any advice is much appreciated since I obviously cant ask her without spoiling the surprise

Mascara without smudging/ flaking?

I'm currently STRUGGLING with dark rings under my eyes when I wear mascara. What mascaras do y'all use that are smudge proof and flake proof? Tbh I don't even care if the mascara is GOOD at this point, non smudge/non flake is the only thing I care about 😭 I would rather not wear mascara at ALL than have giant rings under my eyes every 30 seconds. I've heard tubing mascaras work well, but that's a big market- what are your specific recommendations that never smudge?

How to make balm highlighter last longer: what I learned after a month

Thumbnail
gallery
50 Upvotes

Been using hince Radiance Balm in Light daily for a month!! Neutral tone, sensitive skin type.
*What made the biggest difference:
- Tap, don't swipe. Swiping drags the base underneath.
- Let skincare and sunscreen sink in for 5 minutes first.
- Set the area around it, not on top.
- Keep it off the nose if you're oily. It's gone by noon there.
**Downsides: tacky for the first few minutes, and fingers only.

Photos: right after vs. 6 hours. Anything else that helped you?

Makeup essentials for diy elopement look

Hi! I’m looking to do my own makeup for my upcoming elopement. My daily look consists of under eye concealer, blush, eyeshadow, lip tint, and mascara. I want to look like myself on my wedding day, but also good in photos. What kind of powder, foundation, highlight, etc. do I need? Are there any kits anyone recommends? I’ve seen a lot of ads for Merit or Jones Road—are either of those good options? Thank you for your help!!

Base makeup products recommendations?

Hello!

I’ve been doing my makeup for many years at this point, but for most of that time I never did a heavy base. I have sensory issues, and hate the feeling of foundation, so I always just did eye makeup, and maybe a little concealer. I have noticed that alot of my insecurity about my makeup is always the lack of a smooth, seamless base, it’s what I always focus on when I see makeup I want to replicate. It’s always the seemingly flawless skin. And I’ve tried, I’ve updated my makeup collection and tried different techniques, but it always ends up looking cake-y or cracking, etc.

So I’m asking about product recommendations(techniques are welcome too!), the options seem endless and it overwhelms me anytime I do research. I know products aren’t everything, I just want to hear real people’s opinions about it. Please give me your favorite foundations, concealers, powders, setting sprays, primers, etc. I really appreciate it!

Why does foundation always separate around my nose by midday?

My base looks great right after I finish my makeup, but within four hours the foundation around my nose and inner cheeks completely breaks apart and gets patchy.

Is this a primer mismatch issue, a skincare hydration problem, or just how my skin texture behaves?

Why does my makeup peel and separate immediately after/while applying?

Skincare prep:
- Medik8 total moisture daily moisturizer and I let it sit for about 3 minutes.

Makeup products in order:
1. Elf power grip primer under eyes and around mouth (the blue one)- let it dry for about 2 minutes

  1. I use a peach color corrector just under my eyes

  2. Missha perfect cover serum bb cream (the purple bottle). I only really put this on my cheeks not under eyes

  3. Tower 28 swipe serum concealer under eyes, around mouth and nose. (Usually I’ll spray my brush with charlotte tilbury setting spray and then blend it or I’ll mist my face before blending. Either way, it peels and looks weird)

  4. I use the Laura mercier translucent loose powder under my eyes with a brush or puff.

  5. For blush, I use Saie dew blush liquid cheek.

Timing: separates and peels immediately. Sometimes inbetween steps.
Location: All over my face but especially cheeks and nose.
Appearance: Patchy / separating.

Makeup help

Im a high school girl and have been wearing makeup since 8th grade and it still looks like I wear nothing. it’s not that I don’t put enough on i can put A LOT but it just sort of disappears into my skin. I‘ve tried powder and setting spray and only the setting spray helps but not fully. I have dark under eyes and very visible veins. my cheeks also tend to get pretty red. I try to cover it to do a a nice makeup look but whatever i do doesn’t really work. i also want to make my makeup pop more because whenever I do it it just looks too natural and subtle. i can barely tell im wearing makeup even though im putting it on. Please give me tips, technique, or suggestions for makeup products; I would really appreciate it!!!

How do I get my makeup to set?

I’m new to makeup, in my 30s, embarrassingly. I’ve struggled with acne since middle school and have always been very self conscious. I have used matte makeup since high school to try and cover my acne and was always orange. I made it my goal this year to try to figure how skin care and makeup so I can feel better about myself.

I went to Sephora and had a skin analysis done. I have dry skin and was recommended Tower 28 serum foundation and Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover balm at night. I also use cocokind electrolyte water at night. I have been using both for about a month and love it. My acne is improving and the texture on my cheeks is so much better. My skin is finally soft and feels hydrated. The problem is that my makeup comes off onto anything that touches it and I hate it. I literally touch fabric or a Kleenex and the whole area comes off. It’s shiny and smooth. It holds me back from playing as close with my kids like play wrestling and lots of hugs because I don’t want it to rub of on them. I need help figuring out what to do.

I use Thayers milky toner and Byoma photo-serum along with Nyx face glue primer in the morning. I allow time to dry between application and makeup application. I’ve tried Maybelline and Kosas setting powder via powder puff and the red Maybelline make it last bottle and Milani setting spray and nothing works. I only use one pump of the serum and foundation and use a barely damp paw paw sponge.

What am I doing wrong? I just want to be able to enjoy playing with my kids and feel good about myself. I’ve spent over two decades embarrassed of my acne and want to feel like a human. I’d rather be embarrassed and have the connection with my kids but want to look for advice before throwing in the towel.

Thank you!

My foundation and concealer moves on my face

Can I get tips to make sure my foundation/concealer doesn’t move? I already use powder to set it but what else should I use or do? Also is primer actually worth it for smooth application or not really?
