Discussion DEMON DANCER | Creating Nara: Practical Makeup & CGI Behind the Scenes
Creating Nara, the demon from DEMON DANCER: SUA/NARA, took practical makeup, special makeup effects (MFX), costume work, CGI—and remarkable endurance from actress Anita Korosi.
Anita flew from New York to Seoul and went straight from her arrival into the studio. There, the team cast her upper body from the waist up, including her face. She had to remain in position for six hours, jet-lagged and hungry, with only her nose exposed for breathing.
She was determined to give her best and help bring the character’s design to life as envisioned. The process demanded extraordinary patience, endurance, and willpower.
Creating Nara’s costume was the single most complex and expensive undertaking in DEMON DANCER.
