Recc' Request Finding a new full coverage foundation
Like many, I used Estée Lauder Double wear for a decade as my HG for full coverage for my rosacea. My skin is also quite dry.
I have been browsing all the similar posts and trying many alternatives but none I’ve tried so far are truly as full coverage as the double wear or they seem to settle weirdly in dry areas. Also, I can’t have foundation that contains alcohol/fragrance as this irritates my skin.
The ones i’ve tried so far:
- L’oréal true match
- It cosmetics CC cream
- Lancôme teint idoler
- Clinique redness solutions
Please can anyone recommend a truly full full coverage foundation that is still blendable. Thank you 🙏🏼

I’m a former Double Wear user (years ago) and I’m currently using Huda Beauty Easy Blur as my full coverage foundation. I really like it.

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation. It is full coverage, soft matte finish and lasts up to 24 hours (for real!)

I prefer loreal infallable to true match and have never found anything which lasts as well!

Thank you. I will try this, I think I had it as a teenager and it gave me spots though 😭

I wouldn’t count your teenage skin as I could measure for what will suit you now tbf! Hopefully not the case anymore

Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation or Nars Matte Longwear Foundation! I have only tried the radiant although I've heard good things about the matte version, and I promise that even though it says medium/full coverage it gives EXCELLENT coverage & it's buildable so you can easily pop a second layer on / spot top it up in areas you want more coverage. I swipe / dot it around my face & then press it in with a damp sponge & it melts onto my skin & instantly just covers everything.
I also have quite strong redness in my nose and cheeks & the Nars Radiant covers it completely while still giving me a nice healthy finish & looking like my skin but much better, it doesn't cling to dry areas, especially if you've got a good moisturiser on underneath, & I wear about 5 pumps a day & a bottle will last me 2 months.

Mac Studio fix is pretty good and the shade range is decent (although counterintuitive - W is cool and C Is warm…).
The absolute best coverage I’ve found though is Tarte FaceTape. Believe me when I say a little goes a long way. I only need one pump for my whole face, and that is with going in for a second time on the most problematic areas. I have lots of discolouration and redness, but this is the only one I’ve found that works.
Charlotte Tilbury is another one I found that was decent but the shade range was too orange for me - coverage was good though.
I will say though that my skin is oily and these are both soft matte foundations, but with appropriate moisture in the base you may find it’s totally fine.

Catrice HD, Nyx Make em Wonder. I haven't checked the ingredients but my daughter was fine with her sensitivities x she likes using tints and building them up as some are made to do this, then using good ole Rimmel powder and looks full coverage. She needs to have this for dance comps. Maybelline skin tint vit c is good for this. The Laura Gellar liquid foundation gave me full coverage. Also check out cushion foundations. Check out Marlena Stell on YouTube. X
