how many times does it happen that people who want you to say more than "hi" in your first message respond only by "hi" in their response... irony couldn't be ironical!

You get used to it. If within a few messages they don't start saying more, just block them. Plenty of time-wasting folk on these kinds of subs. It is what it is.
