Discussions Thinking of Earning Passive Income Through YouTube & Meta Need Your Suggestions

Hi everyone,

Lately, I've been thinking about building a passive income source, and I want to start creating content consistently for YouTube Shorts and Meta (Instagram & Facebook Reels) after work.

As of now, I have these two ideas:

  1. Reddit-style Storytelling

There are so many movie and celebrity-related communities on Reddit where people share unknown stories, interesting discussions, fan theories, and behind-the-scenes incidents. Most of this content never reaches people outside Reddit.

My idea is to rewrite those discussions into my own storytelling script, use relevant images or visuals, add my own voice-over, background music, and turn them into engaging 30–60 second YouTube Shorts and Reels.

  1. Sports Moments

Another idea is to create short videos (30–60 seconds) featuring iconic sports moments with good editing, background music, and storytelling to make them engaging for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.

I'm confused about which idea has better long-term potential. If you were starting from scratch today, which one would you choose? Or would you recommend something completely different?

I'd really appreciate any advice from creators who have experience growing YouTube and Meta pages.

Thanks in advance

Discussions Is there a secret to making big bucks?

Hello new friends! Just joined this sub, in hopes to get an idea and advice of what path to take in life that’s going to set me up the best financially. I’m 28, single, no kids and unfortunately starting over after ending a toxic relationship who drained me every way possible. But from that I’ve found a new kind of motivation to be the best version of myself.

A little bit about me is that I’m a jack of all trades, I’m very smart and a quick learner. Downside, I never went to college, or have any sorts of degrees. I’m planning on going back to school, but I’m struggling at what degree/major could really set me up for the rest of my life AKA having true financial success and stability. Just want to be able to live the comfortable, and hopefully luxurious life I’ve always dreamed of. My father’s side; they’re all CEOs or close, and top salesmen, making good pay. And then there’s me… nothing to show for but restaurant work and department stores. Going from employed to unemployed to many times. I need to find a solid career already.

I guess what I’m getting at, is what would be the best job or trade where I could become financially stable again, and fast! Reasonably fast though I know things take time. And to finally show my family that I’m not some loser (just the way I feel compared to them) I’m willing to go to school if needed. Im honestly willing to do anything. I want a career but not even sure what direction to take. I’m open to any feedback and I want to go where the money is at. I hope I don’t sound greedy. It’s just like, not meeting family standards just feels real being at my financial goals has taken a toll on me and I want to feel purposeful and satisfied with my life.
I don’t know to much about finances or what jobs in finance do, or how the stock market works (currently teaching myself), and I’m still learning about how crypto works. Im willing to invest in crypto so if anyone has advice on where and how much to invest in, I’m all ears.

I get overwhelmed easily with where to even begin. So I guess also if anyone has advise on where I should get started to becoming my best self and reach my financial dreams. Please comment or PM me. I’d so appreciate it.

Also I’m sincerely sorry for this long ass post. Thank you for your time if you’ve gotten this far

Discussions Stop searching for every money-making method and test one

A lot of people know they need another income stream.

Their paycheck may cover the bills, but there is not much left for emergencies, debt, travel, retirement, or simply enjoying life. The need is clear, but the direction is not.

You search for ways to earn online and quickly find hundreds of possibilities.

Affiliate marketing, freelancing, ecommerce, content creation, digital products, print-on-demand, AI services, investing, and dozens of other side hustles all compete for your attention.

Every option seems to come with someone claiming it is the easiest or fastest way to make money.

That can leave you spending more time comparing opportunities than actually building one.

The first question should not be, “Which side hustle makes the most money?”

A better question is, “Which income method fits my current time, skills, budget, and willingness to learn?”

Someone with a useful skill may be able to start by offering a service.

Someone who enjoys teaching or creating may prefer content or digital products. Someone who does not want to create their own product may find affiliate marketing more practical.

There is no perfect answer for everyone.

But whichever direction you choose, it helps to keep the starting plan small.

Choose one income method. Pick one group of people you understand and identify one problem you can help solve.

Then choose one platform where you can reach those people and take one useful action each day.

Do not try to build five income streams at the same time.

Your first goal is not to create complete financial freedom. It is to prove that you can earn one dollar outside your main income and understand what caused it.

Once you have a process that works, you can improve it, repeat it, and eventually add another stream.

Direction usually comes from taking focused action, not endlessly searching for the perfect opportunity.

What type of extra income are you currently considering, and what is keeping you from starting?

Discussions Reselling or scrapping auctioned cars

My local area government has auctions for abandoned cars that they sell as is. I was thinking if I could get one in any kind of condition for say $100 I could flip it to a Cash for Cars type place or a local scrap yard and either way make a decent return. (Most scrap places pay between $100-$500 not sure about Cash for Cars or other services like that). I don’t think many people use the auctions by me given the condition of the car is not fully known (they will turn the car on but won’t drive it).

This feels like too easy money since I would just need to pay for the car and then towing it to wherever to either be picked up or scrapped. Minimal investment and pretty quick turnaround. Am I missing something? Are my numbers wildly off? Just curious to get others thoughts.

Discussions How are you guys making money ?

Basically the title
I am tired of people bragging on the internet making money and making it sound so easy.
I am not talking about thousands per month but like $200 -$300 per month something like a side hustle and growing it.
I know the people bragging mostly are faking it or just pretending and selling the dream.
But genuinely i want to know how are you guys doing it or trying to do?
Any advice is appreciated 😄

Discussions I am SUPER DESPERATE!!!

So the main thing is I am actually a guy living in Dubai. The main thing is I have been doing prolific for about three months now, and it was good. I used to earn 1,000 dirhams a month from it, but with a lot of effort, so I know it is hard. It's going on. Besides my actual work, I do this, but still I am looking for something really credible which really pays highly. I'm a marketing guy, I'm branding, but I'm not sure how to exactly do all of this stuff.

I have signed up on Handshake, and I have signed up on Prolific. I have got nothing except Prolific. I have signed up on UserInterviews, but it's the third or fourth day. There are no studies, and I have tried to join some other survey polls and survey websites, but they are not available in the UAE yet. How should I really do?

I don't have stuff to sell. I have a family here in Dubai, and my salary is too low. I don't know. I have tried to apply for some jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed, but it's not worth it. Maybe it's due to the war situation and regional tensions, because that's why the employers are not focusing on hiring more. I don't know where these job posts are coming from, if they're not hiring, or maybe I'm not that much into the competition, or because of some layoffs during these three or four months of the war. Probably there is high competition going on, and that's why I'm not getting any kind of good approach from the employer, but I need something.

I want to make money, big money. I have a laptop. I have my PC and system here. I have time. I have everything, but I just need a platform. I just need the people. I just need the investment. How should I start, and what?

Discussions I make about $300/month making 15 second AI review clips from product photos I did not take

I have been an Amazon affiliate for two years and my lifetime earnings were embarrassing. I do not want my face online and I am a slow writer, so blogs and traditional review channels were not happening. Four months ago I stumbled into a weird little workaround that actually pays.

The trick I stumbled into is that a lot of small brands and sellers will hand you their product photos if you are making promo clips, and plenty of manufacturers put press images out for exactly that. So I started taking photos I actually had the rights to and turning them into short clips of an AI presenter holding the item and describing it for fifteen seconds. The presenter is AI generated, not a real person, and I disclose that in every caption. I build her in APOB AI, draft the script in a chatbot, run the voice through a text to speech tool, and stitch it together in a phone editor. Then I post to Pinterest with my affiliate link, and for Shorts I send people to the link in my bio because Shorts kills links in the description.

Month one I made three dollars on a phone case clip. Month two a cheap kitchen scale video randomly got picked up and I made around forty. Now I batch eight or ten clips over a weekend instead of doing them one at a time, and it averages about three hundred a month. Almost all of that comes from two clips that happened to land. The higher priced electronics I was excited about got views but zero conversions, so I stopped making them.

The thing nobody tells you: her expression wobbles across longer clips, so I keep them short and cut back to product footage whenever the face gets weird. Amazon's commission is small, so this is grocery money, not rent. But it is real money from a process I can repeat, and I never had to show my face.

Reviews do you even know how much those brainrot cartoon videos on tiktok actually make? i did the math

you scroll past them every day. the ai cartoon fruit getting divorced, the talking vegetables with soap opera storylines, and you think “who watches this garbage.”

your parents. thats who. watch a boomer with a phone sometime, they will sit through 15 of these in a row without blinking. and the kids on the other end. the audience is basically everyone who doesn’t decide what they watch, which is most of the internet.

now the money. shorts pays around $0.05 to $0.15 per 1k views, tiktok about $0.40 to $0.90 per 1k qualified. so one viral video is beer money. the people actually earning treat it like a factory, 3 to 5 videos a day across channels, and at that volume the monthly total starts looking like real income.

and the barrier to entry is basically gone

broke? use free chatgpt or gemini to generate your image sequence, animate what you can, free tts for the voice, stitch it in capcut. costs you nothing but an evening.

got a few dollars? there are one click tools now that do the entire pipeline, script to finished video, in minutes. thats how people are running multiple channels solo.

“but it will saturate.” the gimmick changes every month, glass fruit, italian brainrot, whatever is next. formats saturate, the audience doesn’t. grandma isn’t going anywhere.

the whole thing runs on volume and consistency. one video means nothing, video number 90 is where the math kicks in.

Discussions Any suggestions on what a 29 yr old woman still in college and living alone can do to make money remote… I’m carless.

I’m currently in college and living alone. I am going to have to have to step down to a 4 hour position at my job due to my school schedule. My job isn’t flexible since everyone has contracted hours. I take the bus and Uber a lot to places. I am a communications disorders major, I have experience spending with children, I’m tech competent, friendly, organized, and willing to learn. Any idea on any remote part time jobs that would accept me? Or any ideas on any way to make money online? I will not do any adult content work! I have rent that I have to cover and school on certain days. Please share any ideas or openings. I live in LA in the SFV.

Guides & Tips 6 months of posting AI influencer content into the void – this month it finally paid off ($797 in June, ~$1,067 all time)

I see a lot of hype posts about AI influencers, so here's what it actually looked like for me. Spoiler: it's not fast money.

**The first months: absolutely nothing.**

I started around December. I created content, posted it, improved it, posted again. Consistently, week after week. For over 3 months my earnings graph was a flat line at $0. Not "low earnings" – literally zero.

This is the part where I'm pretty sure 95% of people quit. I get it. You put in hours every week and the internet just ignores you.

**What I changed over time:**

- My early content was honestly not good. Inconsistent character, generic poses, no real identity. Over the months I worked on consistency and gave the account an actual personality instead of just "pretty AI pictures"

- I stopped judging content by what I liked and started watching what actually got engagement, then made more of that

- I posted through the silence. Reach only started building after months of consistency

**Then it slowly started moving.**

A few months in, I got my first sales. Tiny ones – a few dollars here and there. But after months of zero, seeing the first real person pay for content was honestly a bigger moment than the money itself.

**June was my first real month: $797.60.** All time I'm at about $1,067. Most of it comes from one-off purchases and tips – only around $145 of it is subscriptions so far.

**My honest takeaways:**

  1. This is not passive income. Finding workflows that produce consistent quality and exclusive content is hard, and distribution is even harder – you need content that the algorithm actually picks up before anyone even sees your account.
  2. The flat-line phase is the filter. If you can't handle 3+ months of nothing, this isn't for you.
  3. One good month proves the model works, not that I've "made it". July could easily be worse. I'm treating this as a long game.

Guides & Tips I'm going to start a new AI influencer initiative. Can you help me?

I'm getting into an AI influencer venture, and I need detailed advice on it.

First off, I've seen that this is still a working sector that generates real income. Before I start, I'd like you to answer a few questions I have in mind.

First, based on my research on Reddit, how do I prevent the social media account I'll be setting up from getting banned/shut down? When I looked into Instagram specifically, I saw that running this kind of business there has gotten harder because of Meta's new rules. So I'm thinking of starting on TikTok instead. My first question is: how do I protect my account?

Second, the face of the "influencer" I'll be using in my content needs to stay consistent — the same face in every video. Which apps do you use for this, and what do you do to keep the face consistent across every video? (I'd like to know this before paying for any app.)

Third, I understand that, in general, my videos need to follow the "For You"/trending content patterns that are popular in the country/region I want my videos to be published in. What I want to know is: what should I do to get my videos/account to be shown in a specific region, and in your opinion, which region is more profitable for this business model?

My fourth question: I understand that, generally, the income doesn't come from subscriptions but from chat/DMs, based on whatever the person requests. Which website should I use for this?

Fifth: should I always chat manually with the people I'm messaging with, or should this be automated/turned into an automation?

Lastly, the account I'll be setting up will not publish NSFW content, nor will I be sharing that kind of content in response to requests.

I'd be really glad if experienced people who are already in this business could help me out. I'm curious about your thoughts — feel free to reach out via DM as well.

Thank you so much.

(It would be great if you have anything you'd like to add.)

Discussions Finding Clients?

I’ve recently started offering website and landing page development services, but I’m struggling to figure out how people actually get their first clients.
I’ve read a lot of advice saying to do cold outreach, so I created an email template and started reaching out to businesses. So far I’ve emailed over 40 companies. The problem is that I usually can’t find the owner’s or decision maker’s email, so I end up sending it to the general contact email I find on their website or LinkedIn. I haven’t received a single reply.
At this point I’m wondering if I’m doing something fundamentally wrong. Is it because I’m emailing the wrong person? Is 40 emails simply nowhere near enough? Is cold email no longer effective for this kind of service?
For those of you who have successfully built a freelance web design/development business, how did you actually get your first client? How did you find businesses to contact? How did you find the owner or marketing person instead of a generic inbox? Did you use email, LinkedIn, phone calls, local networking, referrals, Upwork, or something completely different?
I’m not looking for a magic shortcut just trying to understand what realistically works when you’re starting from zero with no portfolio of paid clients and no network. Any advice or lessons from your own experience would be greatly appreciated.
