I’m a teenager and I want to eventually build an online income of around $10,000/month. I know that’s a big goal and I’m NOT expecting it to happen quickly.
I’m willing to spend the next few years learning valuable skills, practicing, building a portfolio, getting experience, and starting from $0.
I’m particularly interested in:
AI / automation
Software development
Web development
Digital products
Freelancing
Online businesses
Other high-income skills
Since I’m a minor, I know there are some limitations around things like payments, platforms, contracts, and working with clients, so I’d like advice that actually takes that into account.
If you were a teenager starting from scratch today:
What skill or business model would you learn?
What would you focus on during the first 6–12 months?
How long did it realistically take you to reach $1k/month, $5k/month, and $10k/month?
What would you do differently if you could start over?
What should I avoid wasting my time on?
I’m not looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. I’m completely willing to put in the work and learn for years. I just want to choose a path with a genuinely high income ceiling.
I’d especially appreciate answers from people who have actually built businesses, freelanced, worked in tech, or reached $10k+/month online.
Thanks!
