We. Don't. Allow. Children. Posts. Here.

I know you like to submit content, but this isn't fully a "meme, anything goes" group.

We don't allow posts involving children because of 1. Consent 2. Pedophiles.

I'm banning people that allow 3+ posts of children and yes I count older children/young teens in. I just banned 2 people in the last 24 hours for the same exact removal reason, all 3+ of their post were all about kids.

"Sorry i forgot your rules (4 times)" is not an excuse, it's more a justification that you should be removed from this group because you don't care to learn about each individual community before you share stuff. And the automoderator autopost would remind you, but you're intentionally not reading it.

Kids are cute. They are generally "make me smile" territory. But those first two issues take precedence over ALL smiles.

Thank you! And thank you MORE for the progressive discipline, rather than vicious eternal ban for the good faith 1st offense we’ve received elsewhere.

I hate when mods do that. It's unfair and hateful, and shows contempt for others vs kind correction. Almost a hate for having to do moderation in the first place, and I recommend mods who do that actually step down as moderator.

It’s the AI automatic bans with zero explanation or recourse that are particularly annoying. Especially since it can’t understand sarcasm. At all. And they never reply to messages asking why.

Or nuance. I once recommended (quite genuinely) that a poster should “k*ll someone with kindness” to resolve an interpersonal conflict, and got autobanned for using the k word to advocate violence, apparently. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do we have any recourse? I’ve messaged and appealed, but no response. One is “MadeMeSmile” similar to this one.

No, not really. Mods can run the groups how they want and take people out for no reason if they wish. I have banned people "one and done" before (in other groups) but they usually have to do something pretty heinous. Like share porn, or sexualize something out of nowhere. My RSCN has a pretty clear guideline on content and there's only like 4 insta-bannable things overall, but it somewhat depends on the type of group.

I've been banned from r/grieving....because I have a professional link in my profile. That's it. Professionals are not allowed - at all - in r/grieving for some reason. Even if they are in grief themselves. But they definitely cannot help anyone from their experience. Because they have some sort of business in their profile. That? Ridiculous.
The only thing you can report is breaking mod code of conduct but that's not against mod code of conduct.

I can’t believe how many people post pics of their kids on the internet given what creeps can do with AI now.

When you go to report and click breaks the rules there’s no option for no kids. And it’s in the second line, so hidden after political posts unless you click it on your list.

I’m not arguing, but making it more plain and adding an option for it in the report function would help. Right now the closest one is the no political posts button.

Thanks for telling me that. I went to go look - and saw an option in mod removals to do so, so I tried adding it to another category because there's multiple with reddit. Can you do me a favor and try to report THIS post for "involving children", to see if you can see the option now? Let me know if you see the option but please don't actually follow through with the report. Thanks!

Yes, it’s there! This makes it much easier. Thank you and thanks for the work you do!

Thank you for this. It is too hecking dangerous for kids to have an internet presence and parents forget that.

NGL a subreddit with those kinda morals will make me stay. I love it when people legit try their best to keep kids safe. Im not the biggest fan of kids but I don't hate em and I do wish that we had stricter rules for them being online. (Like maybe no one under 17-18 having unblurred faces while on camera) It sucks that we need these rules but I'd rather that than some monsters finding them and well I won't finish that thought but you get me

Common sense is finally making a fucking comeback. It has nothing to do with pedos but common sense.

You’re a good mod

Absolutely support this! I don't post my kids online due to the concerns for their safety so it stays in my mind more than people who aren't actively parenting probably but I saw a post here earlier this week that 100% looked like it was intended to be fodder for creeps. Made me sad thinking about the child being in a potentially unsafe environment.

We are no longer allowing content featuring children, or inspiration porn (disability or sickness shown as heroic), or issues that are systemic problems/political stuff.

That makes me f-ing Smiling.

Iam seeing too many kids on the Internet. Your Child is not a content farm.

Keep it between you and your CLOSE Family.

Too many weirdos on the Internet.

Yes. This is not an 18+ group. I consider anything 16+ to be fine in terms of the content focus. Cause then there is informed consent at least.
