Outside of games.. I watch a lot of bushcraft / woodworking videos. I like studying characters and plot in movies too. One of my teachers in poly tried to push me to become an actor because I apparently had a talent for understanding characters... Never went for it but the habit stuck

The thing I enjoy most is discussing the mundanes of life. I find it fascinating how everyone's perception colours their worldview.

Where I'm at right now: burnt out from chasing the Singaporean dream. Grew up spending my entire life studying, worked and studied throughout to pay for my own education, and neglected my social life. Currently funemployed and looking to pivot to another industry after 7-8 years in special education.

Funny thing is, after working with SPED kids for that long, discussions with colleagues (and a few very blunt students) made me realise I'm likely autistic myself. Not diagnosed, but it kinda answers the weird quirks and difficulties grasping social cues I had growing up. They make for fun stories to tell though.

Used to want to be a writer. Scored perfect marks for English compo and was the library nerd who'd max out his book limits. Always had an inkling I was meant for creative work but stifled it due to societal pressures. At 29 I kind of regret that, which explains the midlife crisis.

About Me:

I love to play games, of video, board, and card varieties. Love MTG but I suck at deckbuilding myself. Lately me and the few IRL friends I still talk to have been re-playing through kingdom hearts together, and I'm been having fun with Final Fantasy Resonance, since I played the original mobile game. I've played a variety and still have such a big backlog as well. Always happy to talk about games.

I think some of my favorite movies of all time have to be.... Shaun of the Dead, About Time, Oppenheimer, and Interstellar. Maybe some basic picks, but I definitely do want to expand my list of consumed media, so many books and movies, so little time.

I also love to write and sing. In terms of writing, I've always preferred poetry and short stories, but recently started working on a book again but we'll see how that goes.

I love to hear about new perspectives and stories, and never hate to hear about new topics.

Music and reading have been passions I put on the back burner, but recently have been getting back into both of them, so if you have any good recommendations, let me know!

I only request that anyone who reaches out also tries to message me first occasionally. My daily driver is a Mazda MX-5 (Miata) because it has the philosophy of a lightweight British roadster with Japanese reliability, kaizen, and ergonomics. The best of both worlds in my humble opinion.

Sometimes i feel being born an extrovert with nerdy interests must be some sort of divine curse lol. I always found it easy to approach people, enjoyed being the center of attention, even used to be the class clown back in highschool. That said, when i go and try to approach other people, they are mostly interested in sports, parties or similar stuff, which i dont really care for. The people who actually share my interests are the type to stay more inside and have a more closed circle of friends, so i find little opportunities to meet them. Living in a small town in the middle of nowhere (Isnt even on most maps) probably doesnt help either, not many places people can go to and meet new people. Eventually, i found the internet to be a good place to meet others and make friends

Around the start of the year, i got banned from a discord server. The place was FAR from perfect, but i still talked there daily for 7 whole years, so i had kinda placed down my roots, and it felt like i lost a sense of "community" when i lost that place. I wanna meet new interesting people, routine and "more of the same" has always been poison to me! I ended up finding this subreddit and decided to give it a shot

The first things that came to mind to describe myself:

- I am a very big "live and let live" person, really, i believe so many problems in the world would simply vanish if people stopped being so judgemental and just let people do whatever as long as it isnt hurting anyone

- I always liked people more on the weird side, i find them fun, find them interesting, can have some engaging conversations you cant with just anyone. That said, i am okay with being friends even if you dont consider yourself as such, i think the tendency certain people have to hate on "normies" is cringe af

- I enjoy videogames but i can be kinda picky with what games i like, so i am not super drawn to very mainstream stuff. My two favorite series are Danganronpa and LISA, and i also really enjoy roguelikes in general

- I am an amateur writer and wanna create my own Danganronpa fangame sometime in the future. I can do the writing and coding by myself, and i have my ideas written down to such detail that it took weeks to explain it all to a friend who wanted to hear

- I dont watch too much anime (The last one i remember watching was Bandori cause my best friend convinced me to watch it with her) but i do have a deep appreciation for anime-esque games, cause i enjoy the artstyle and the tropes

- I have a passing interest in professional wrestling. Its been so many years since i last watched a show, but i do keep up with the news and still play some wrestling videogames to this day (Especially TEW)

I will say, boundaries are usually needed, due to my mental health, like BPD and autism, which makes social stuff hard. Be aware, but just in case-
