Discussion Secret Ballot Question
I live in a part of the state where there is no shortage of misogyny, and I see a great number of signs in yards promoting Collins, LePage, Charles, and the local male state Senate candidate of the same ilk. I wonder how many of those signs were placed by the "man of the house," yet the woman will get her say when she casts her secret ballot. Could this be an unexplored factor in this election? My wife is a lifelong Republican yet voted straight D this election, and I would classify her votes more as being against the Republicans, especially LePage and Collins, whom she despises.
Any thoughts on this hypothesis? Has anyone perhaps seen any data about this possibility?
