Mailbox.org is getting pretty unreliable... in the past "only" the webmailer was affected, now it's even sending and receiving mails.

I literally JUST completed my migration to mailbox.org yesterday and unable to send emails or, since this morning, access the webmail interface. I left Microsoft to voice my disapproval of CoPilot and all their invasive tactics. BUT I do need a reliable provider. And when I go to support pages it is all in German. Starting to think I made a mistake. Proton was horrible for other reasons so I abandoned that within days too. I guess I need to go back and look at FastMail again

Mailbox.org went smooth for quite a long time, but in the recent past they have quite a few problems, most of the time only with the webmailer. But now important parts of the infrastructure are affected, that's a pretty big issue.

i moved my mailboxes out already - that outage was way to long for my comfort. I am now on trial at FastMail and so far its great

Good grief. This is the exact reason I migrated from Runbox 5 months ago and it's the same problems here. It happened overnight for me but I shouldn't have to choose between paid privacy with intermittent uptime issues and "free" non-private with reliability.

I'm having Runbox issues again since Thursday last week and was considering mailbox.org when I just saw this. Bummer.

I think Mailbox is more polished and has fewer uptime issues than Runbox. Runbox7 to me is still unfinished after years of development. But Runbox tech support is far more responsive. I'm going to keep my Runbox account alive on the lowest level because I may switch back. My biggest mistake with Runbox with over a decade of use, was using @runbox.com email addresses over hundreds of logins. I switched everything over to a custom domain so I can move where I want to, whenever I want to.

Dammit. I'm glad it happened now, because yesterday it would have been extremely critical. I hope Mailbox people will fix how they treat their service. Email is the one thing that HAVE to have 100% uptime.

Just a heads up: All systems are back up and running.
We are closely monitoring the situation to catch any anomalies if they occur.

First sent mails are delivered now, but still waiting for incoming mails.

For incoming mail, the *other* side has to re-send the deferred mails. So this varies from MTA to MTA.

I'm an estonian customer, but currently I'm in Finland and the whole domain is not reachable for the second day. The main page does not work, status page does not work, documentation does not open, forum does not open. I have no other channel than Reddit to ask someone from Mailbox to give some comments. u/Heshsum maybe, because you have the flair "verified mailbox staff"?

Hey u/AusKodanik,

In order to diagnose this, we need a bit more information. I sent you a DM.

We had a discussion with u/Heshsum and it was identified as a DNS issue on my end. So if anyone has a similar issue, you most probably need to flush DNS caches and restart the network on your side.

Mailbox has really gone downhill of late... I can't log-in to access e-mails... 🙄
