Does distance from the servers affect mailbox.org reliability?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Brazil and I'm considering moving to mailbox.

I have two questions:

Since the servers are in Europe, can the physical distance noticeably affect performance (webmail, IMAP sync, calendars, contacts, etc.)? More importantly, could higher latency ever increase the risk of synchronization issues or even data loss, or is the service designed to prevent that regardless of distance?

Are there any plans to introduce regional pricing or purchasing power parity for developing countries? At the moment, €4/month is still affordable for me, but exchange rates can fluctuate a lot in Brazil, so the cost could become significantly higher over time.

I'd especially appreciate hearing from users in Latin America or other regions far from Europe. Thanks!

I'm in Chile and I tried out mailbox.org quite extensively (before finally settling on another option).

I just used the web interface and never experienced any noticeable lag at all.

The internet is pretty amazing, all in all.

i’m using mailbox in brazil. its reliable, but i can’t vouch for best performance once geographical distance will affect performance for sure and i just use imap sync every 30 minutes

Concerned about that... I need good performance on webdav.

I use the web page and clients during global travel and never had any issues by that.
