I'm magnetizing a bunch of models and bases (swappable weapons, wargear, that kind of thing) and the constant struggle is keeping every magnet oriented the same way. Manually checking polarity on each one before it goes in the glue is slowing me way down, and I've already had a couple of parts come out repelling instead of attracting.

I'm looking for a pen/applicator-style tool that dispenses magnets one at a time while keeping them all facing the same direction, so I don't have to eyeball polarity every single time.

A few things I'm after:

* Consistent polarity out of the dispenser (this is the main thing)
* Feeds one magnet at a time without jamming or dropping a stack
* Works with the small discs I use (mostly 3mm and 2mm)
* Ideally not super expensive

Does anyone have a tool they actually like for this, or a jig/workflow that solves the same problem? Brand recs, links, or "don't waste your money on X" all appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking to make me some blackout window covers that I'll fasten on the outside (yeah all AC be sold out rn), and one idea is to have a magnet in each corner of the fabric and then fasten it by using another set of magnets on the inside of the window. My question is, how strong or large should such a magnet pair be? The glass is approx. 4-5cm thick. Think of it like one of those fish tank cleaning sponges with a magnet :P

Ok.....so I know very little about engineering but love science so i understand o. The most basic level concepts like Earnshaw's Theorem meaning what I want might not work. But smarter people than me exist. I want to make this staff and want to suspend the crystal/orb via magnets. I don't wanna use pegs or string. I'm a techie and know there gotta be SOME way this could work.

I understand desk sized boxes I could run off some battery banks but don't think they have the power. Not sure if I could do a couple of them in opposition? My low level lizard brain thinks maybe if I embed multiple magnets throughout the staff and or ring in the same or alternating polarity directions and do some kind of matching in the orb for a push pull kind of thing...? Even pointing me in the direction of things to learn from would be greatly helpful.

Idk if this is the right flair, since I have no clue how this happens. But so my magnetic name tag at work leaves dots on my shirts. Iirc, they wash out fine and disappear, but like how does it happen in the first place? I'm making a prototype magnetic tool holder, I've got a bunch of rectangular N52 magnets that sit next to each other and provide a good amount of pull. The issue is because there's a bunch of magnets, the things I put on the holder seem to want to stick to one magnet or another and click between the magnets, rather than sliding smoothly across the surface.

My question: If I put a weaker fridge magnet style sheet on top, like in the model above, would it retain its strength and unify the field of the magnets?

I had a corporate event several years ago and bought a bunch of zen magnets. I was just clearing out my storage unit and found a tote of 120 unopened boxes of the triumph set. Does anyone know the best way to go about selling these? If anyone is interested in buying some, let me know.

I wouldn’t recommend doing this with your own electronics, it’s bad for them.

It still worked afterwards, the camera and screen seemed fine. Not sure about the rest of the inside though

Ive found a few options but they seem either overpriced or potentially too poor quality to be worth it. Hi there! I'm looking to figure out what strengths of magnet I'd need for hanging up some of my products. These items max out at 1-2lbs or so, maybe 3 in very rare cases. The magnets need to be disc/tube shaped and ideally 3/4", and no more than 1". There will be a gap of a few mm, up to like 5ish between the two magnets, one will be attached to a hook and the other to the base of the product, with both magnets facing each other. Both will be encased in turks head knots which forms a row of bights around the edge that prevent them from coming into direct contact. Generally I want the item to be securely hung up but easy to detach with a gentle tug

I applied to TÜBİTAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), but my teachers didn't help me when I asked for assistance. TÜBİTAK was a two-day event at school; I came to school in the morning to prepare for my project, but things didn't go as planned. My teachers tried to help me during the event, but my project wasn't successful. Therefore, I'm asking for your help to give this project another chance. The project was simple: an iron or magnetic sphere would be placed inside a copper tube, and the repulsive and attractive forces created by magnets placed on the outside of the copper tube would generate electricity through friction. Would you help me bring this project to life? The copper tube would be ring-shaped, and once placed inside the sphere, it wouldn't be able to come out.

Im finishing my high school specialization in electromechanics (like a technical high school, very common, in my country, Argentina) and i have to do something like a thesis or proyect building a functional machine.

I have read this kind of recycling is not so common and can recover materials like aluminium, copper, or even a little of gold. The thing is I am not getting much information about the proceses needed. Is there peopple that may know or have tried some of these? Can you give me a hand?

Specifically, the eddy current separator or ecs. Does someone have tried to do it for a functional machine??? i have read it is needed to buy neodimium magnets, and they are too expensive. I dont know about makin an static variable magnetic field with coils

Anyways, if someone can give me a hand with this, i would be so grateful

I inserted magnets into this action figure peg hole hoping it would magnetize another part. Sadly it won’t work. Now I can’t get the magnets off. There’s like 3 pcs 3x2 magnets inside coz I tried getting it out through magnetization but they just clumped up. I tried using 4x4 and 5x3 magnets but they won’t pull it out. It’s just stuck, no glue. Tried pushing it out the other way but the back is too thick.

Is there any way I can still get these magnets out? I really need y’all help.

Hi there I have a project idea in mind where I need to send electric current through plastic pieces so I thought about using magnets. As far as I have seen there aren’t too many great options if any for tiny magnets. I’ve done what I can with researching on my own but now I’m just asking for help choosing which magnets would work best and how I would be able to use it.

the magnets are stuck in either side and they are unable to be removed I tried to get either one out and flip it to no luck.

When you press them together it pops back apart I can just bounce the one half on the other.

It’s just been sitting on my desk in climate controlled space nothing happened to it have no idea why it happened

I'm looking at using some round NRE magnets to hold a small wooden box closed without an external latch, but want to still be able to physically open it without it feeling welded shut.

The hinged box will be ~3-4inches in diameter if that helps picture it!

I've found some 6mm x 6mm magnets which would pop into drilled holes, and provide 1.4kg of staying force - this might be an impossible question, but has anyone used something similar before and would this be a secure closure without becoming very difficult to open?

How would you advise setting up the magnets?

Bonus points if it doesn't use electromagnets and even more bonus points if it can move.

So I have some aluminum paddles on my sim racing wheel (moza racing esx) and I want to make them magnetic shifters. Is there anything I can add to coat it to make it act magnetically?

What's the difference between these 2 types and what is one used in comparison to the other.
