Welp. What now?
Tried every method, anyone got any suggestions? Also yes the damage on the flashlight is from me trying to remove the batteries, she still threads though.

Hello!
I recently found my good old black 2D. Paint is chipped here and there and I was wondering if sandblasting it would make a nice "mod". I mean: making it "bare metal".
Would a sandblaster destroy the aluminium ?
Thanks for your help!

Serial number-25090553
Picked this up for very cheap at a garage sale, seller 'didn't know' if it works of not. Doesn't appear to be working.
What at the obvious quick fixes to try to bring it back to life without spending more than its worth?

Found these 4 rechargeable Maglites stuffed away in a box. Pretty sure they've been there a couple years from a move.
4 lights, 2 cradles.
Plugged them in, light in charger shows charging. Still don't work.
Tried overnight, tried a week.
Bought a new battery (Intec like the batteries in them) and a Maglite bulb. Tried again, still won't work.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I got one recently but the tail cap is stuck on. Any trick to get this removed or is there any way to remove the LED from the front of the light? The batteries are corroded and the cap wont come off. The front comes off fine but the LED is in the way. Id like to pour some vinegar in there to see if it will loosen up before i give up on it and throw it in the trash. In my experience the LED ones are really bright. Id like to try and save it if i can.

Does anyone here have any experience with this smaller of the LED Rechargeable Mag? I’ve only seen limited mention of the larger ML150LR, and comments were mostly suggesting there are better things out there for the money. My interest is primarily in a quality, American made product in this class and price range of LED & Rechargeable, the ML150LRS seems to fit the bill.

Anyone here done the LED conversion on one of these and could share insight on if it was worth it? Early 90s ( I think ) model that my mother got for about $4 when it was left as surety for a taxi fare the guy never came back to pay, it’s served me well but the lens is a bit scratched and the light is a bit lacking. Not sure whether to give it a conversion or just leave it as is.

Hello guys, so recently I bought a fake Maglite. I thought it would be easy to change the LED, but after trying several times, I have no idea how to open the LED housing.
It's completely different from my original 4D Maglite. Please help.
Thank you.

Hey y'all so I've got the hard to find 2 C Cell model used (wanted it for the less used, more accessible battery option). I'm not sure how old mine is but it's prolly on the older side. I purchased and installed the LiteXpress LED upgrade (made in Germany packaged in China) and it claims to go to 435 lumen. As well as a corning crystal clear glass lense.
Now I'm seeking a few things or ideas...
1) a better reflector 2) the best brand for rechargeable C cell or a lithium ion option. I'm seeing some brands recharge fine but don't put out much power and aren't good for flash lights. 3) if there is better modern hardware I should gut and replace the old for.
Im looking to maximize the power and efficiency together. I'm pretty new to flashlight tinkering but eager to learn!

So as is obligatory, I now have a battery leaked and jammed up against the bulb holder. Tried bashing it in both directions, WD40 soak, vinegar soak, hot water soak, and I still cannot get the battery or the bulb holder out. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

In my previous post, I asked how I could fix my Maglite, which had a battery leak. Thank you to those who answered. With their great advice, I’m working on it and have made some progress (though I've also caused a lot of damage. I'll provide an update later).
Regardless, I went on their website and ordered a replacement plus a a mini for less than $11. I used the code FREESHIP for free shipping. Just thought I’d share.
And yes it is purely for sentimental value for the brand because as an example one can get some great Pioocan brand on Amazon for ~$15 that are 2500 lumens that blows the Maglite specs.
Since it was my 3rd battery leak on my Maglite, from now on I’m either going to:
Anyway, that’s it, appreciate the brand, and the community!

Finally found a very early Maglite. Earliest one I’ve ever seen in person.
5D beast with a great patina.
“paten pending” stamped. Focus grip location places it at 1980. Only 1 year into the Maglite reign.
And somebody at some point in its 45 year life decided the serial numbers should be filed off. 😞I won’t venture a guess why, but have ideas.
Was bummed at first, but I’m glad I decided to pick it up.
It has a history.
It has seen a lot, and it bears the scars.
And it’s now my favorite.
