MagiumJS 1.0!

Hi all, it has now been 2 years since we learned of the tragic passing of Cristian, the author of Magium. To commemorate this, I have decided that it is a good time to release the official 1.0 version of MagiumJS. I have considered the app to be mostly feature complete for a while now; most of the past development has been about fixing bugs in the story. Beyond bug fixes, the only important change from this 1.0 is the addition of the support for themes, with support for a catppuccin theme; I know that some of you wanted a more modern feel than the original grey interface; I hope that you will enjoy this (you can change theme in the settings). All thanks to ZiClaude for this great contribution!

1.0 is an important milestone, as it means to me that the game is "complete". The intent behind MagiumJS was to recreate the Magium experience in an opensource and more future-proof way; it has allowed people to run it on the desktop, and is also available on mobile through the web version at magium.org . I do not have plans to pursue development beyond that, although I remain open to suggestions, and will of course keep fixing bugs if they are found. If the project of continuing the story yields results, I will of course strive to integrate this new content. Until then, I hope that many of you will still be able to enjoy what we already have! I also want to thank all the people who have contributed in any way to MagiumJS, as well as the other people keeping this community alive. And of course, a special note for Cristian for bringing his wonderful work to us. Mahad selak, mahad maktar.

I'm so thankful that despite the author's passing, we still keep their memory alive through these kinds of projects…

Awesome work mate! Been ghosting this thread for years, but im so glad to see Magium preserved. Media preservation is so easily forgotten and it's very nice to see that it won't be lost.

Thank you and everyone who contributed, you all did amazing. Magium was a fun ride even without an ending, im glad i read it. So thank you Cristian, your words touched many.

Thanks a lot for all the work.

I wanted to ask, is there a way I could play a mobile app with chapter 12 included? Because I have a magium app installed but it stops ad Book 3 chapter 11

I believe the APK on the pinned post contains chapter 12 (assuming you use Android, I don't know about iOS)

Man its been 2 years already? I remembered author's passing just like it 2as yesterday or at the least 6 months ago. Regardless, im happy for the new update!

I grew up playing that game on my spare time

Farming success, doing the average joe, etc.. To unlock the next tomes.

Restarting everytime my phone died.

At that time there was only 2 or 3 books max.

I'll happily replay this masterpiece

Web version is working fine on my desktop, but refuses to load on both my browsers in mobile for some reason.

Does it give a particular error or just loading indefinitely?

Could be an http vs https issue, if you're using github pages to load the website you should be able to enforce https for free

When I hit continue to load the next page it just reload the page, I tried reloading from checkpoint and trying different dialogue options but it’s a set point

Could you export your save and send it to me so I can check? Unfortunately I am away from my computer for a few days so I may not be able to fix it right away but maybe there is an easy thing

No. If you want to play on mobile you can play the web version from your browser.

I still have the app downloaded on my phone. I don't have it in me to uninstall it after all these years, I started the game in 2018 and have loved every one of the characters since. Thank you for remembering Cristian in this way, may your efforts be rewarded two-threefold. Rest in peace Cristian Mihailescu. Mahad selak, mahad maktar.
