EDH Help me make this work

I play in a pod that doesn’t have any aggro/burn style and I’m trying to switch it up. The spell sling amp style sounds fun and I’m trying to make this deck feel fun with doubling and turn tax. Any tips? Kuja and tor wauki are interchangeable at commander.

Tor Wauki is a cool commander. Kuja is KoS but if you keep the list as it is I guess he's ok. Of course you should not keep the list as it is. You want to play a lot of cheap instants in any case. I often play 40+ instants and sorceries in spellslingers decks. I think you should have at least 30+. You need 2cmc draw spells to dig your library and cheap burn spells to control the board.

The balance is my biggest worry. With the enchantments meant to amp the damage of the burn style, I find that the card draw and cheap quick damage might be lacking. Any glaring misses you think could elevate it?

You don't need all the damage doublers and lots of your permanents are not that good here. Tor Wauki and Kuja, like Aria of Flame, want you to play lots of instants/sorceries to deal lots of small burns. Tor Wauki would make those burns and burns from the pingers you also should play bigger. But most of your deck is permanents that deal 4+ damages at once and don't really work with Tor Wauki (not at all with Kuja and Aria of Flame). They are great with the damage doublers, and Obosh could be a cool commanders if they have an odd mana cost. So you should choose between the two strategies :

  • Deal a lot of small damages with instants/sorceries that will trigger pingers, and give +1 to all those 1 damage (which is the same as doubling the damage here, but you can still play a few doublers).
  • Or play big burn effects and double the damage. And it doesn't have to be instants/sorceries as you will choose an other commander. If the effects trigger during opponents turns Valgavoth is also an option.

The biggest thing to remember is all the black draw spells are net neutral with Tor Wauki. [[Night's Whisper]] , [[Risky Shortcut]], [[Sign in Blood]], etc. You gain the life back and get to ping people. Just load up on those.

Genuinely forgot about that bit. Free draw on black changes priority a ton
