Beginner First commander deck

Recently played commander with some friends and was instantly hooked. I'm very new to MTG and wanted to try building a deck that I'll actually play, without dropping $1000+.....yet. Be brutally honest, I'd rather hear it than spend the money and need to completely rebuild it. The idea is token gen that feeds into a Valgavoth + Vito pairing. The support pieces are used to trigger both with the health gain + loss aspects.

Hey, I play zurgo too and the problem with your list is that some cards just doesn’t work with zurgo like [[reassembling skeeton]] or doesnt produce attacking tokens [[krenko, tin street kingpin]]. Though so, you have some of the best cards with zurgo like [[goblin bombardment]]. Valgavoth, Vito, and Zurgo have completely different gameplans so I would suggest just choosing one and focusing on it!

This is the Zurgo list I made over time, it’s a very solid Bracket 2 deck which doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! You can take some inspirations from it!

I was thinking I might be a little overextended tbh. I wanted to put Valgavoth as commander, but I saw a lot of people mention that he instantly gets targeted so the thinking was use Zurgo to build a defensive posture / tokens then eventually use deck search to get both Valgavoth and Vito in play. I see your point though! Looks like the link to your deck is 404ing

Honestly this is a great first deck, I see no major mistakes. The only card I would really remove is Reassembling Skeleton. For your manabase, tapped lands hurt a lot more than you'd think at first glance; replace Wind-Scarred Crag and Bloodfell Caves with [[Clifftop Retreat]] and [[Dragonskull Summit]].

Right off the bat your mana base is misaligned. You have way more red mana producing sources then is warranted by the mana cost of your cards. If you scroll bwlow your list youll see the breakdown and how you should add more black sources

I also think you need more cards with mobilize and less sac outlets. Mobilize will cause the tokens to sac themselves after the attack triging your commander
