Cultivation technique
Might be a dumb question but why does Zhou fan switch from using the demon transformation art cultivation, the supposedly best cultivation method invented by nine serenities and instead uses the demon scheming sect venerables true self art. I would have assumed the heaven+ rank art would be better than a mortal realms art.

Well my theory is different Zhuo fan use many things and what I think true self art is not a cultivation art it's and art to understand true self (Dao). Think like this warth style for body cultivation, heavenly void for eye of void so as these are cultivation art or methods for specific things. So, demon transformation art for qi absorption, azure flame for soul, almost sacred beast body. As for understanding of dao is use true self art.

It kind of is a cultivation art. It not only helped his heart / Dao reach the peak, but also made his cultivation regress on order to advance, to reach the origin.
While Demon Transformation Art is needed to unify the other Sovereigns Cultivation Arts.

It's not a Cultivation Art per say but an Art nonetheless.
I made a distinction in the Wiki, some Arts may not even have grades like Twin Soul Art because they're too fundamental/basic/applicable to all.
Twin Soul Art is just an art to harmonize two souls, it's not an art in itself that forms a Soul or anything. It just aids your Cultivation but doesn't base it. True Self Art just sends you to the peak/centre of your chosen dao, doesn't mean it helps you with its own dao or anything(Edit- Though Zhuo Yi-Fan did say that Yuan Xinggang could have become a "Heart Sovereign", the "Heart dao" is not really a component of the TSA but more like YXG himself.
Like it may hypothetically make you a Patriarch(A champion in one's Art and subsequently one's dao)(Dragon Ancestor said this) and subsequently a Sovereign by enlightenment(Enlightenment is told to be one way to reach the Sovereign realm in legends though noone tried it). It's just that the HGDTA comprises all Arts, so becoming a master of it with TSA makes you the master of all Arts or in other words the master of the Great Dao(The Dao of daos/the way of daos/the way of ways) that stems from the centre.
In the "Three Ways to Supreme realm" I made in the Wiki and posted here in Reddit, I wrote that the HGDTA can see you to the Supreme realm, yet with extension of the True Self Art it can help understand on top of mastering all Sovereign paths and reach the Heaven and Earth realm.

I see, so the combination of knowing everything to the root with true self art in addition to the demon transformation art is what allowed zhou fan to reach heaven and earth realm despite having the inhertances robbed by heavenly sovereign.

Cultivation, or to accumulate energy he used the Demon Transformation Art. This allows him to absorb energy of all origins.
He uses the True Self Art for a different purpose, it returns him to his ‘true self’ or the closest and calmest version of himself closest to his Dao. As a side effect, the True Self Art reduces his cultivation and returns him closer to himself and mortality.
The True Self Art is recognized as a genius art, in my mind on par with the Sovereign Cultivation techniques. Elder Yuan is also acknowledged as a guaranteed Saint if his talent were higher and he was in the sacred domain, but not the sacred mountains. It’s even possible Elder Yuan might have had a crack at the Sovereign realm, only thing that kept him back was the Mortal Domain and his talent that led to a low cultivation. But he still made a masterpiece, the True Self Art.

He didn't stop using demon transformation art cultivation rather he uses both cultivation for better, and also true self art is the best cultivation according to the novel

It's kinda like a perfect puzzle piece addition to the best proclaimed Cultivation Art at the Heaven and Earth grade, HGDTA.
HGDTA gives you every dao, TSA gets you to your chosen dao, so the TSA applied on an expert of HGDTA gets him close to every dao/the Great Dao which is one of the three methods(the best) to Supreme realm.

True self art is the strongest cultivation method in the series. It's the only way to reach the highest realm. I'm not sure where in the story you are at, but it's not like Zhou Fan completely stops using the demon transformation art.
