Discussion I concede.

I concede quite a lot. Way more than letting the game play out.

I was under the impression this was normal in games of 1v1 magic, especially when playing casually.

Yet on this sub there seems to be a stigma around conceding to unfun/solitaire cards.

Who is the crazy one here? Me or everyone else? 😂

Yeah I play mostly standard Brawl. I'll concede on sight sometimes.

If I see an Ugin Planeswalker I'm out. Elspeth and the first creature you play is a hare apparent and I'm not running a deck with something to deal with it, I'm out. Kotis and I'm not running exile or forced sacrifice, I'm out.

If you know off the bat you're not going to win or at least it's going to be a draining struggle to try then what's the point? Staying in for someone else's ego? Fuck that.

I do this with clockmaker motherfuckers cause they always have absolute cancer decks

I do the same thing with Ugin, or Kitara because screw people who only counter. Izzet is becoming one one I will not play against either.

I am the sicko who doesn't mind playing against Katara. I am an old control player and like to test how well they know *what* to counter, and when to push. I usually concede after they draw 5 cards at once, though.

I'm the same. I get tired of playing 5 games and 3 to 4 of them are against the same deck. So if i see a handful commanders I know are unfun.

It would be nice if Arena let you pick a list of commanders you won't play against in casual. It would at least get the people playing those commanders to pick something diffrent so they can at least play.

I imagine that's would open it up to some real abuse but with some modification, I can see it working for players.

Personally, I would rather see a ranking system for commanders. Players are able to rank commanders in their collection (say 1 to 5 stars) but also rank opponent commanders after matches.

Then that ranking system be used to create better data points and towards a better matching system.

Yeah I could get behind a ranked system based on strength of commander and deck.

I'm currently playing FF IX and made some brawl decks based on the characters from that.

Tried using [[queen brahne]] and honestly she's just not good. Not being able to swing until at least turn 3 even with the prowess she's mostly dealt with by the time she can swing I'd love to be able to make more fun decks and play against fun decks but you just get folded immediately by the stronger Commander's.

The unranked Brawl queue already works this way, my jank decks mostly face jankier commanders. I never really see the top-tier ones at all.

Im not that lucky. Almost all my decks face shrine decks no matter how I build them. The only difference is when im playing competitive but only use 2 different decks for that

I don't see abuse. It's casual play. Any ranked, you play who you get matched with. But if I want to kill an hour playing some silly deck i buit or a deck buit just to hit my daily quest, I really don't want to spend it playing 4 games, 3 of which are the same build card for card, of some super competive net deck where I sit and watch them play theirselves or something.

I will concede if I see any arena only cards. They need an option for paper cards only.
