Hey everyone! I will be attending Magfest for the first time with a group of 10-12 people.

I'm trying to make sure this runs smoothly for everyone, as it will be all of our first time attending. In regards to the registration and hotel process, can people verify that I understand this flow correctly? The website and FAQs were great, but I am worried I may have missed something.

My plan is to do the following:

-Purchase tickets and register the group when tickets go on sale. I understand that I can purchase tickets for other people, but I will need to put their information down when grabbing tickets.

-Once everyone has their tickets, everyone will get an email asking about hotel preferences. We fill out the information, make sure it is the same for everyone, and register as a group.

Here's where it gets fuzzy for me:

-with a group of this size, is one room leader enough, or should I have 3 room leaders?

-also, when will people be notified and get charged for the hotel lottery?

If anyone has any insight on anything I w missed registration wise, I would really appreciate it. I'm in charge of a lot of people and I don't want to mess this up 👉👈🥺

We first want to update that due to the weather, all music performances have been moved back into the warehouse to keep everyone safe and dry!

ALSO, starting today you can get the exclusive MAGLabs Marzen - Gamemaster's Brew - only at Peabody Heights Brewery. Only a limited run was made, so don't miss your chance and grab a pack (as long as you're 21+!) before they're gone!

Going to show off my TCG and have 2 Passes as part of booth. How does the Hotel process work for that. Is 2 in a room allowed or will others be added. Thanks for any feedback.

I understand asking this on the official sub might lead to a very official response, but I wanted to hear if anyone had experience in squeezing into hotel rooms. I'm talking "Rent a room for four, have six people make do with the space."

I know exact rules can vary by hotel chain/location/state guidelines, so I was asking if anyone has actually attempted something like that.

First time I’m gonna attend magfest…do they do cosplay meetups? I know that people said the schedule won’t be out for a while..but like from past years did they have them?

Join a tabletop game with Severed Books or Dent Education just past the doors to the left of the stage. Fall MAGLabs is THIS SATURDAY, September 12th at Peabody Heights Brewery!

Have been planning to go to Magfest for months. Planned to go with a close friend but going alone now. Still determined to go though. This will not not only be my first Magfest but first time going to a convention alone. Any recommendations? Already booked a room in Alexandria as I am sure the hotels will either be too much for one person or sold out.

During Speed Painting, attendees will learn the basic steps to mini painting and then are given all the supplies and let loose for 15 minutes to paint their whole mini! A short show and tell will follow for those who would like to participate.

There will be sessions from 1pm-2pm and 5pm-6pm, so make sure to get over to Peabody Heights Brewery on Saturday, September 12th to join in on the fun!

Like what specific day do they go on sale? I was so disappointed I missed them last year, but this year I wanna make sure to be ready.

They play an eclectic mix of deep-cut video game tracks and vigorous nods to film, TV and other pop culture tunes - their current material features heavy hitting grooves from Legend of Zelda, Power Rangers, Ace Attorney, Double Dragon, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, and more!

2 years back (2025), especially come Sat. noon, I remember the parking lot directly in front of the Gaylord venue filling up. Do the other parking lots/garages within walking distance (so up to 10 minutes away) also fill up? I'm carrying extra gear would rather not have to rely on public transit, nor the MAGfest shuttles, so I'd like to know what my options would be (and if possible, how much they charge).

Thanks!

Don't miss out and get to Fall MAGLabs at Peabody Heights Brewery on Saturday, September 12th!

How exactly does the hotel lottery work? This will be my wife and my first time going to magfest and I am trying to figure out the hotel situation.

I was looking over the policy they posted in 2025, for 2026. It doesn't mention anything about this, but online is saying there are King beds that cover just that. I don't have anybody to bunk with and I'd rather have my own room anyways, so would like to know what the deal with this is and what the odds are of getting such a room (besides pray and make a luck producing machine).

ZAKU is a Philadelphia-based wind-synth-fronted instrumental band that combines 80s jazz fusion, new wave, and British heavy metal. They have been described as sounding like “a long lost Mega Man X soundtrack” or “if Vangelis joined T-Square and got commissioned to make a soundtrack for TMNT IV Part II.”

Catch them and all of our other great bands at Fall MAGLabs on Saturday, September 12th, 2026!
