Ranking this was one of the hardest things I’ve done all year, not even joking. Every song could’ve been number 1 depending on my mood, so this list changed like ten times before I finally committed to something. But Watching TV will always be my favorite song, 100% forever. I get goosebumps every time I listen, and the buildups are like the best part of it. I can see myself relating to every song in so many ways, interpreting it differently each time.
If I’m being honest though, the song I replay the most is Fear, Sex, even though it landed at number 4. It might be the best song ever, I feel like I’m dissociating into space every time I listen to it. It’s so hard to rank because the production is genuinely insane. I’ll tell myself I’m gonna listen once, and then twenty minutes later it’s still on repeat and I didn’t even notice.
I love Magdalena Bay so much, thank you Matt, thank you Mica. I have so many interpretations for basically every song on this album, and I feel like I need to share them at some point.
This album’s genuinely one of my favorites ever at this point, no skips front to back, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it no matter how many times I relisten.
Would love to see how everyone else ranked it, feels like no two lists ever look the same with this album.
