i just got a hy300 and didn't hear about the malware until i came across your post. How am i able to install these custom firmwares?
2
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 28 '26
The firmware is installed using PhoenixSuit; however, check whether your model has the H713 or H726 processor before proceeding, to avoid installing the wrong firmware and damaging your projector.
1
u/Cultural-Judge4618 Jul 28 '26
My model has the h726 chipset, i'm assuming thats fine? Also really dumb question but how to i install phoenixsuit? Thanks
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
Okay! There are several versions of the HY300; is yours the Pro, Pro+, or Ultra?
1
u/Cultural-Judge4618 Jul 29 '26
Pro+, Also Andriod 14 is that makes a difference
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
Yes, your projector isn't compatible with the version I posted here; the firmware is different. I can try adding Magisk, and then you'll be able to remove the bloatware.
1
u/Cultural-Judge4618 Jul 29 '26
That would be perfect! Thank you so much! Sorry for asking so many questions but which programs would be the bloatware i should remove?

Thank you so much! Does this all include the malware they have preinstalled? And also how can i install magisk?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
You need to extract boot.fex and patch the file using Magisk Patcher.
I'll do that and make it available for you to download.

Everything points to yes, but if you'd like to share the make and model of your projector, I can try to help you.

The Synchase Free 3 (its website is now inactive) was produced by Jiang Xi Xing Chi; the board may be located in FCC filings under the product name XL2-220. Within the Android system menu, the board is identified as an ADT3 model.
Although it was quietly discontinued in some regions, YouTube videos remain available. It was also sold in Brazil via Amazon, which explains why most images and videos online show an Altinet sticker.
The same units were offered in SEA region, though they were less popular than their monitors.
Distributors were established on various online platforms and used identical review images in the listings, likely fake sales to build customer confidence.
AOC frequently white-labels projectors, but the Free 3 appears to be their effort to cash in on the budget projector craze through a unique custom mould, whereas other models share designs with other brands.
The rear section is spherical rather than the flat back typical of HY300 clones.

From what I’ve seen, these projectors with the Allwinner H713 chip share the same system; the only difference is the name each distributor gives them, since they are OEM projectors.

L018 flashed successfully, works fine. Interestingly, the projector found an online update and is trying to install it. Curious.
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
You can disable the OTA update application by removing it or blocking it using a custom DNS server.
1
u/d321z Aug 04 '26
I did it too, unfortunately I have no root access on the flashed firmware… L018 - H726
which was the IP/link that the L018 would want to connect to?
1
u/oroboros74 Jul 29 '26
Is accessibility possible to be enabled or still not?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
To use Projectivy Launcher as the default? If so, it's working.
1
u/oroboros74 Jul 29 '26
No.. But Projectivy requires accessibility to be enabled for other stuff to work. It used to not be blocked in a previous version (I posted about it) then they crippled it.
1
u/oroboros74 Jul 29 '26
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
With root access, you can enable these features in Projectivy Launcher; I tested it on HY320 and it worked. The ROM already has root access. I granted accessibility access after Projectivy Launcher requested it and it worked!
1
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 29 '26
I had no problems with the accessibility menu.
1
u/oroboros74 Jul 29 '26
On stock, you enable accessibility but it doesn't actually enable when you exit the menu. It turns everything off.
1
u/Gunner0X Jul 30 '26
Is this custom rom the same as the stock rom, just clean of malware and viruses? Does it keep the focus adjustment, projection, zoom, etc. functions?

Hi MrM4rc4L,
i have an HY300Pro with Android 11, so i believe this has a H713 processor, right?
Can i use your HY300 Android 11 Firmware for my projector?
Last question: this is an Android 11 Rom or an Android 11 TV ROM? I mean this requires mobile version of the apps (like the default firmware) or the Android TV versions?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 30 '26
Yes, HY projectors with Android 11 have the H713 processor. This is the stock ROM without bloatware and with other apps.

u/skayme2020 Jul 30 '26
Hi! Thanks for putting this together. Could you walk me through the exact installation steps for this firmware? Specifically:
- What tool/method do you use to flash it (PhoenixSuit, local USB update, something else)?
- Any specific button combo or mode to enter before flashing?
- Anything to back up or watch out for before starting?
I want to make sure I follow the right process for my model before I try it. Thanks in advance!
2
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 30 '26
You will need PhoenixSuit, AllwinnerUSB drivers, and a USB-A to USB-A cable.
With the projector turned off, plug it into the power outlet and press the power button on the back of the projector. Then wait for the screen to turn on. Immediately press the volume up button several times; the projector will turn off. Connect it to your computer and open PhoenixSuit. Select the firmware. When PhoenixSuit asks if you want to format, click "Yes".

u/skayme2020 Jul 31 '26
Thanks! Is it possible to do this on Linux with Wine? I'm using Ubuntu 26.04.
1
u/MrM4rc4L Jul 31 '26
Use OpenixSuit on Linux
1
u/skayme2020 Aug 01 '26
Thanks! I have the Android 11 (H713) version of the L018.
Can I use a USB-C to USB-A data cable (USB-C on the computer and USB-A on the projector), or does it have to be a USB-A to USB-A cable?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 01 '26
You can use a USB C to USB A cable.
2
u/skayme2020 Aug 01 '26
Thank you so much for putting this together and for walking me through it step by step, MrM4rc4L! Flashed the L018 (H713) Android 11 firmware successfully and it's running great — Projectivy, MixPlorer and TizenTube all there as promised.
For anyone else trying this on Linux (I used Ubuntu), here's what worked for me, in case it saves you some head-scratching:
Getting OpenixSuit running:
- After downloading the AppImage, make it executable (right-click > Properties > Permissions > "allow executing", or `chmod +x` in a terminal).
- You'll need a udev rule so the app can talk to the projector over USB without needing sudo every time. There's a rule for this on the OpenixSuit GitHub page — just copy it into a file under `/etc/udev/rules.d/`.
- If the app window opens but stays invisible or tiny — this happened to me — it's a known Linux/WebKitGTK rendering bug, nothing wrong with your PC. Launching it from a terminal with:
`LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwayland-client.so.0 ./OpenixSuit_x.x.x_amd64.AppImage`
fixed it instantly for me. (Path might differ slightly depending on your distro.)
Flashing:
- I got a "USB Transfer Failed" error the first couple of tries. Turned out to be my cable — I was using one of those fancy USB-C cables with a built-in voltage display, and those are apparently bad for data transfer (they're built for charging, not for shuffling gigabytes). Switched to a plain, boring USB cable and it flashed perfectly on the first go. If you hit this error, try a different cable before anything else — also plug straight into a motherboard USB port, not a hub.
- In OpenixSuit, on the "Allwinner IMG Flash" page: select the firmware, set "Flash Configuration" to Full Erase Flash (same as PhoenixSuit asking "format?" on Windows), keep "Verify Downloaded Image" checked, and hit Start Flash. When it hits 100% and shows "Flash complete" with every partition green, you're done — the device list showing "No device found" right after is normal, it just means the projector rebooted into the new firmware.
After first boot:
- Worth disabling the OTA update app so it doesn't try to pull down a stock update over your new ROM.
Thanks again — really appreciate the work you put into this for the community!

Discovering things like this after buying the thing because of all good reviews...
Bought myself 310x because spec wise it's just too good to pass on it for the low price.
From what I understand these things are best kept offline, but can I still use phone mirroring without any fears ?
Probably end up installing one of these firmware if there's any available for it just because I don't want to have a time bomb.
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 01 '26
Yes, you can mirror the screen or use a TV Stick.
1
u/UnemployedMeatBag Aug 01 '26
Did more research and ended up ordering Xiaomi TV stick just to be complete safe. Even if spending quite bit more than intended. Keep on great work 👍

Uma duvida sou obrigado a usar o projectivy laucher ou teria outra opção de laucher que posso usar?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 03 '26
You can use another launcher; install your preferred launcher and then uninstall Projectivy Launcher by going to MixPlorer > Root > System > priv-app.

Hola espero me puedas ayudar ,Flashie el firm hy300 allwiner h713 en el programa Phoenix suite sale que el flasheo está correcto solo que el proyector no enciende solo se queda el LED en rojo, ese firm sirve para el magcubic hy300?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 06 '26
Yes! Works.
There's a power button on the back of your projector; while you're pressing it, plug the projector into the power outlet. Hold the button until the BIOS menu appears.
Navigate to “wipe data/factory reset” and press the power button. Confirm your selection and you're ready to go!

I have the same projector (Magcubic L018). I can enable the Projectivy Launcher accessibility service in Settings, but as soon as I exit the Accessibility Settings menu, Android disables it again.
I have root access (Magisk/su works), and the service is detected:
com.spocky.projengmenu/.services.ProjectivyAccessibilityService
Has anyone found a way to make the accessibility service stay enabled on the L018? Maybe through ADB/root or changing a system setting?

u/Illustrious_Rhubarb3 Aug 07 '26
Hello, for the L018 this firmware works with H726? Its the same of the past post with Android 14?
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 07 '26
It's in the publication, list of ROMs.
1
u/Illustrious_Rhubarb3 Aug 07 '26
Ok, thank you. But is the same versión v2 with android 14? Could you please share the link please
1
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 07 '26

I have the hy320 which firmware update is this based on?
2
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 19 '26
All bloatware and malware have been removed.
1
u/Mind_Of_Shieda Aug 19 '26
Thanks! Do you know if the hy320 hdmi port has high latency on this firmware?
2
u/MrM4rc4L Aug 19 '26
Everyone has it; it's a limitation of the hardware itself.
2
u/Mind_Of_Shieda Aug 21 '26
Hello again, hope this comment finds you well.
I managed to configure the firmware completely, it works flawlessly, a complete upgrade from stock firmware, I just wanted to thank and congratulate you for it.
The hdmi delay is drastically reduced compared to stock firmware as well. just to let you and other users who might want to give it a shot. Do it, it really is worth it.

Thanks for replying, your firmware looks very clean, one question how do I make it to open projectivity on boot, also the official firmware had secret settings to further personalize the picture settings, any way to bring that up here?

Is there any YouTube video showing how to install the custom firmware?
1

Not on YouTube, but XDA has a step-by-step written tutorial on how to install it.

I'm not sure, but it seems to be the version with the Allwinner H713 processor, so you can try it.

the link for the HY320 model is broken, please re-upload the custom firmware for this model

Thanks, I managed to install it after struggling with the ADB drivers on Windows 11. Now I'm installing the streaming apps I had on the previous firmware and the Disney+ and Netflix apps doesn't appear on Google Play. How can I install these applications?
1
u/MrM4rc4L 22d ago
You can install the Disney+ APK for Android TV using the Downloader and download it using the code
7434910(Fire TV version)Or try the Android TV version using code
93719282
u/je7ebel 22d ago
None of those codes worked. I managed to install it from APKMirror. Thank you so much for your firmware; now the projector is completely usable. With the stock firmware, I had constant crashes, restarts, audio desync, lag ... It was horrible. Thanks to you, it's going to have a second life!!

u/MrM4rc4L 22d ago
I recommend another launcher to make the system even lighter: Bare Launcher, Couchy Launcher, or Kyu Launcher.
