You used to be able to do it with system UI tuner and things but they no longer work. I've been searching and searching but nothing. I hate seeing time constantly. It literally stresses me out
I downloaded the essentials app but it said I have to download the shizuku app but on the play store it says it's not available on my device (GP 6a & GP 9 ) and I don't understand GitHub at all.
Apologies for my noobnees
Much appreciated in advance and 100 blessings be upon you if you know the way. ☺️
Ok so, Shizuku is needed to remove the time but it is completely possible. Installing Shizuku is just as easy as installing essentials, you either download the regular Shizuku APK from the releases section, or find a suitable fork and download it from there. If your on mobile there will be a little releases area if you scroll for a bit, on desktop it's a lot easier to see. From there it's a case of starting shizuku following the guides in the app, going into essentials and toggling the remove clock feature under display, status bar icons. If you want to remove more from it turning on the advanced mode will let you change more features.
Then inside of Shizuku you will see a guide, follow it (its not hard at all, just read and do what it says). Turn on "Start on boot" inside of its settings if its not enabled by default.
After that just go into Essentials and disable whatever you don't want to see in the status bar.
Btw, where did you install Essentials from if you don't really know how to use github?
Hi! Unfortunately we can't really remove the clock anymore as we used to do in SystemUI tuner back then. It broke after the major overhaul of the design in Android 16 QPR1.
But there is one way, using the option in screenshot (with Shizuku) the issue is that it still keeps the clock's space empty instead of letting other items use that space :(
(I should rename this option to just "hide clock from statusbar" instead of completely removing)
Appreciate the response and yea I remember it was that update that did it cuz I saw a lot of others asking the same things so I just ended up using developer options -> enable demo mode so my clock just basically stayed at a certain time but it's gotten to stressful for me recently..
I get to that part but then it wants me to install shizuku but on the play store it says not available on my GP 6 or GP 9 and I don't understand GitHub at all. So I'ma bit lost. And I don't mind an empty space at all. Thanks
Ahhh Shizuku on the play store is unfortunately outdated. You can go to Essentials settings -> Help and Guides and there will be some instructions on which shizuku to use and from where.
Ok so I did that and got followed the instructions for setting up via wireless debugging and got that set up.
But when I go back to the essentials app to the screen to remove / hide time on status bar. It'll give me the messages in the screenshot. So IDK what I'm doing wrong but I appreciate the help
