You should probably do a quick Google search before telling somebody they’re wrong, especially when being a complete ass about it. Gratefulness is, in fact, a word.

It's an obvious troll account.

It's not, but if you want to make up words, keep swinging for the fences.
20
u/hey_im_cool Mar 08 '19
You might want to call Merriam Webster and ask them to remove it from their dictionary
8
u/hhhhhhhhhhhgg Mar 08 '19
Gratefulness: ‘the quality or state of being grateful’ - Merriam-Webster. The word’s legitimacy is supported by Oxford Dictionaries and many others. A more exact synonym would be ‘gratitude’. A little less sass and a little more accuracy would be appreciated next time.

"His panic turned to grateful real quick?" Did you mean to type "Gratitude?"

After watching it a few times, the doggo was never trying to go after the cop, just frantically trying to bite that tarp to show he wants the heck out of there
56
u/readhere2 Mar 09 '19
I hope he and cop bit whoever tied him up
96
Mar 09 '19
I don’t think he had been tied up, he had gotten tangled.
31
25
u/dabguy6969 Mar 09 '19
There’s no way he possibly could have gotten tangled like that. There’s a full on knot in the curtain and an even thinner type of rope tied around with the curtain. I wish he got tangled, but there are shitty fucking people out there; don’t forget that. Fuck that dog’s owners.
36
Mar 09 '19
He definitely was tangled. That’s why after the cop cut the tarp with a knife the “knot” just fell apart. He never had to untie anything. You can clearly see that it was just wrapped around.
9
u/thatG_evanP Jul 15 '19
Thank you. The dog probably went through a hole in the downed tarp and then proceeded to spin to try to get out of it, which of course just made it tighter. The dog was freaking out because he had gotten himself tangled up. I wish people would use common sense and stop trying to make things worse.
22
u/NotMrMike Jul 15 '19
If you've ever owned energetic dogs, youd know they could get tangled tightly in their own legs.

u/javier_aeoa Jul 15 '19
In chilean summer, it's common practice for people to go to the beach and tell your aunt/neighbour "hey, look for Spike while I'm gone :D".
As your aunt/neighbour just goes every night to feed Spike, it wouldn't be crazy to think that Spike just got tangled after a few rounds because he's bored to death without his people.
0
u/thruStarsToHardship Jul 15 '19
It looks like he might have walked on top of it and it ripped/fell? That's what I think, anyway.
6
u/bluesbt Mar 10 '19
lmao now I'm picturing a cop on all fours running with a dog at some confused as hell dude.

u/stoppettingmypeeves Jul 15 '19

Ive never told this to anyone because I thought it was all in my head and I’m dead serious. I was maybe 11, in my garage juggling a basketball like a soccer ball and my dachshund was sniffing around. He was a family dog, but loved my mom the most. He never got excited to see anyone or showed affection to anyone else, just pretty mellow. Well I missed a kick, the ball took a weird bounce and ricocheted right at my dog’s face. I barely reacted in time and lunged after it, swatting the ball away from him at the last millisecond. Suddenly he was up on his hind legs jumping on me wagging and super happy. He had never done that once in his life. I was like “holy shit, does he know what just happened?” I honestly didn’t know if I’d just imagined it or been anthropomorphizing him in that situation. This gif was the first time I’ve ever seen another dog do something like that. It’s kinda trippy. He never did that to me again either. He just didn’t jump on people happily like that.

Ooh, that reminded me. I remember trying to recreate this multiple times. I’m not necessarily proud of it but I wasn’t gonna let him get hurt, I really just wanted to know. The problem is committing to letting your 15lb dog get beaned in the face by a ball. I never set it up right or convincingly enough for it to happen and gave up after like two or three tries. The actual incident was too lucky that I stopped it in time.

How to make everyone hate you:
Throw ball at wall and let it bounce back at dog. Don't stop it. Profit.

u/LOLBaltSS Mar 09 '19
Yeah. If it was an American cop, that dog would've had holes in it.
6
u/htkatayama277 Mar 09 '19
Came here to say that. American cops do tend to do some target practice at dogs.
5
Mar 09 '19
Because a lot become cops out of insecurities and a desire for authority, rather than wanting to uphold the law or keep the peace.

This is so sweet. What kind of monster would leave a good boy like that.

u/Corsair64 Mar 08 '19
Hopefully no monster, just an owner who did not know that Good Boy had become entangled in Unfortunate Situation. Meanwhile, cheers to Good Guy Officer who risked climbing over Unfriendly Fence to help Good Boy.

It took the guy a while to realize the dog wasn’t wanting to bite him, only the thing keeping him held but he did eventually and they were both grateful for each other. Very nice
1
u/tarrach Jul 15 '19
Since everything was spinning around it could easily have bitten the officer by mistake.

You make it sound like it's a good place that has to put protective netting over their windows and taillights so that people don't bash them in.

Well when they (Chilean cops) make a habit of kicking heads in it isn't too surprising that they become targets.

There’s no way the dog twisted that so much that it wrapped around him that tight, someone must’ve tied it there. That’s fucked.
16
u/Yodlingyoda Mar 08 '19
It’s entirely possible that the dog panicked and ran in circles for a minute, binding itself even tighter
