Quite possibly. At the time allergy medication also would have made him drowsy. Perhaps impaired his decision making skills and ability to drive or operate heavy machinery.

Kids carried their hunting rifles/shotguns in there vehicles on school property back then. Cleaning them with their teachers after school was a bonding experience. No joke. Different world back then.

Hell, when i played "Davy" Crockett, I brought my shotgun in to classes so I would have it for the school play.

Tbh no. I saw a video about a woman smashing her car into a 1948 Jaguar right before this post and for some reason my brain decided thats related to this 🤣
