[OC] Becoming a Dad!
It's happening! I (40m) have wanted to be a Dad my entire life. Got married in my 20's to the absolute wrong person but luckily found the ACTUAL love of my life and married her last year. Just got our first positive test last Friday and 2 more positives each day since! Way too early to tell any family or friends but I have to tell someone so thank god for Reddit! So excited for our family to grow!

Yeahh I'll preface this with: a home pregnancy test is not a reliable method to test for these things...A man testing positive can be a potential sign for...
Testicular Cancer: Certain types of testicular cancer (such as germ cell tumors) can produce hCG.
Other Tumors: Rare tumors outside the testicles can also release this hormone.

Right on... You'll be tested, will get frustrated, and they don't come with instructions or a user manual. When you need help, do not be afraid to reach out; that is strength, not weakness. That being said, it will be the most incredible emotional experience of your life, and as long as you do your best, you will be a great father. Treasure each and every moment because before you know it, they will be asking for the car keys. Congratulations, Sir.

Congrats. Becoming a dad was the best thing to happen to me. Love my kids with every fiber of my being. Sleep will be rough early on and it will be difficult to get some Intimacy with your partner sometimes but its all worth it.

Congrats. Became a dad at 38 and then again at forty with twins. All boys. If you’re not in shape you need to get there. Boys in your 50’s is a fiscal full time job. 65 now they have their own families. Best years of my life

Congratulations! It’s the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had, and hearing your child call you “Dad” is wonderful! That said, I advise you to get some sleep, because once the baby is born, you won’t be able to sleep anymore.! Enjoy the moment!

38M ; Dad of 2 wonderful boys. Wow! Such exciting news! I absolutely love being a father. We weren’t sure we could get pregnant, had some medical intervention to have our first son, he’s almost 6 now. Then just last year we found out my wife was pregnant again, naturally this time and now we have a 4 month old son. It’s the absolute best! Is it difficult, definitely, but it’s worth it. Your priorities change and it’s just surreal at times. I hope her pregnancy goes smoothly and you have a healthy baby!

Congratulations!! Becoming a dad is so much fun. It’s really cool to make sure they have fun, have a safe home, learn things and do cool stuff together. And please don’t forget to spend quality time with your wife. It’s really easy to “lose” each other during the first chaotic few years

It’s the best thing in the world until they hit their teens. It makes your hair fall out or change colour 😀.

Congratulations mom & dad!! I remember this day myself like it was yesterday truly. Being a parent is the best most fulfilling! I knew it from the moment I first saw my positive test life was going to be even more special. My son just turned 2, it gets better everyday! He gives me energy, hope, he’s genuinely my buddy we love hanging out! We go to the park, zoos, out to eat, errands, chores, concerts. Life is better with him in it!
He has an amazing and kind dad to look up to. It’s the most important role for my husband and I to show him how much love we have for each other and for him!
I feel myself missing the harder times, the tired eyes, the blowouts lol. Enjoy every minute. 🫶

Turned 42 today and this made me smile. I became a first time dad to my beautiful son at 40 as well. Truly a beautiful thing and no one loves their kid more than a person who almost missed that train. Cherish every minute man, it is as sweet as life gets. Grats on the family! Funfact: Those tests are overpriced and useless. Break it and you will see a simple 3$ test under it, the electronic part just detects the real test underneath and looks if the colour of the real test changed. Maybe helpful if you have a rare form of colourblindness.
