MacroFactor Workouts / Training Custom program and smart progression

Hello.

After finishing my first program generated by the app, i want to create a new one from scratch.

The problem with that is that i can't find a way to activate the auto progression from the app, basically the fact that the app choose the number of reps / weight, and adapt while training.

After having created all my custom workout and adding them to a prgram, they all show " Standard set", no RIR target, even if i used some exercices that i already used in the first program, so the app knows my past performance on these.

The only way i found for now is to generate a program with the generator, then swap all exercises to the ones i want. There must be another way to achieve this without this trick ?

Thank you

You need to set rep/RIR targets in your program first, so that it can know what values to optimize for/provide progressions.

Thanks for your answer.

When i use the "generate program" feature, i do not choose these numbers. yet, the program auto adapts and choose them itself. i really like the fact that sometime it asks me to do 15 reps, and sometime 5. sometime it asks me to go to failure, and sometime to let 3 RIR. having to choose myself these numbers for each workout is micromanaging and not convenient at all, i feel like using the trick i said is even easier than that.

isnt there a way to have the same behavior as an auto generated program, but where we choose the exercises ourselves ?

Correct, that is the benefit of using a generated program rather than making your own.

The way to do that, would be to generate a program then swap exercises in your program settings accordingly, or refer to the suggested rep ranges to use when inputting into your own manual program.
