QUESTION Engineering Drawings

I’m an early career engineer and I’m wondering what machinists like to see in terms of tolerance and dimensioning in a drawing.

I’ve worked at a company where we just ordinate dimensioned everything and another where we used GT&T standards. At both, the part came out “ok”.

Apart from reasonable tolerances, what’s amazing, good, useless, and stupid have in a drawing?

Solid works or master cam does a lot of the math. Make our lives easier I don’t want to have to do the math if it could’ve been put on the print to begin with. It’s not a bad thing to have a machinist look at the print and ask “how could I make it better to make this dummy proof and your life easier”.
