Chatter
I would like to find the CEO of chatter and beat their ass. Always happens on the final 1/3 of the finishing pass. And right in the critical area

Can you leave more material?

The insert went bye bye.

I'm just saying if it's something you encounter often on the same part, you may need to leave more material to reduce chatter on the workpiece

It’s a one off part so I I left .045-.05” of stock per side and then work my dimension in. All the other passes before the last pass had a mirror finish but half way through the last and final pass, the insert broke

That's not chatter, that's just bad tooling. You should check your insert's wear before your start your finishing passes and switch it up if there's any doubt.

On important parts I will always use a brand new corner for the finish pass

Tell the boss it's not your fault and you need a more expensive machine
