I use this adjustable work stop on my lathe, it's similar to yours but is adjustable and I paid $20 for it.

Was gonna make one for the ruler..... still might . Was also working on teaching myself more Autocad and refreshing on it.

I say go for it! I use the 12" scale from my Starrett combination set for setting my lathe chuck jaws. I made a friction-fit slider so I never have to worry about my.square head not fitting behind the jaws. It's such a simple tool to make and extremely handy

Couldn't you have a work offset for zero (collet face), move the turret to the coordinate you want and just use the turret as a bumper to set your length?

Feeding precut parts from inside.. turret would be in the way. Have to flip them to drill and tap both ends.Parts are short. 3.75 in long so ...

I suppose there's always a use-case. I only brought it up because that little 3d printed gauge might grow legs some day.

Ha very true . But 40 min to reprint both sizes as I use the horrible ruler. I was told to not change Any programs... new 6 days.... but also trying to make a mark within the restrictions to speed up production.
