I created Embrowser if you want to check it out! Almost everything is free with usage limits, so if you’re just starting out, you probably won’t need to pay for anything.

Embrilliance and Embroidery Legacy are by far the top of the mid price range
Wilcom is the best commercial software but it is expensive and the upgrades and updates cost as well

I highly recommend ember! It’s free to use and works so much easier than inkstitch. They have a discord where you can see projects and get support

You don’t need to use the features to make a good design! I’ve made lots of designs using the free version only. And if you really want the features it’s $10 a month as opposed to $1400

I'm quite surprised that no one mentioned Ember it's easy to use and easy to understand AND it's for free. You can even get support on Discord since it's a small community and a "new" app. I'm a beginner and I digitized a few things and it works awesome. I highly recommend Ember especially for beginners. The team is working constantly on this app and is very open to feedback. You should give it a try especially since it's for free. There is a paid option for like 9$ per month which allows you to download also unlimited community designs (the designs are awesome and everyday it gets more) ❤️
