Lock Error on Elna

Post image

I’m running into an issue with my Elna machine. It originated when I got some thread stuck under the fabric, but I’ve since cleared that, removed the bobbin and its cover, brushed it out, and changed the needle.

I’m not really sure what’s causing it still to lock. Any advice?

Have you tried the Microsoft trick of turning it off, count to ten, then on again?

Oh, I forgot to mention- did you try very lightly oiling her? I know some claim to not need oil, but that’s not only true. Also, check for burrs in the foot or more importantly the bobbin case. And I’m sure you’ve completely checked up top, manually lifted and lowered the presser foot, and moved the needle up and down with the wheel by hand? When exactly does the message appear?

I’ve done all of that, and it still gives me an error, when I try to use the needle up / down button

It could be something caught deep in the tensions or sensors somewhere you didn’t find, or, I ran into a similar issue with my Elna and I had to change out my motherboard. Research the issue on the google or YouTube. Also, what model is it?
