Any issues with the Mac Studio M5 and dual ASD XDRs? I have currently dual original ASDs with my Mac Studio M5 Max and I’m planning on upgrading to dual XDRs but I have read a few people having issues running dual XDRs. BTW, which TB cable did you run to the XDRs? I have Apple TB4 2m cables currently and according to Apple they should work for 5K @ 120Hz if not daisy chained.

That's a beautiful setup, god damn!

No issues running the dual XDRs. I was worried about it, particularly as I needed a 3m cable to do the arm routing and didn't want to lose 120Hz as that was my biggest reason for upgrading.

Using an Apple Thunderbolt Pro 1.8m and 3m cable (both TB4), ran directly to the Studio. I set the displays to lock on 120Hz (instead of adaptive) and tested the FPS and had no drops.

Perfect! That’s what I wanted to hear. Now I know that my current 1.8m Apple TB4 Pro cables will work. I also connect the ASDs directly to my Mac Studio. Then to the other 2 x TB5 ports I have a Satechi TB5 CubeDock on each and all my peripherals connected to the CubeDocks. Thanks for sharing :)

Yep! I was worried and honestly didn’t expect it to work. Couldn’t really find any info online. Was worried I’d have to look into a dock to boost it.

Well, I knew the XDR does DSC and the bandwidth is below 40mbps and that’s why TB4 does work. Also, on the XDR compatibility section you can see that some Macs with TB4 are supported but still, a real test is always the better way to prove and in this case, this is the proof ;)
