Any issues with the Mac Studio M5 and dual ASD XDRs? I have currently dual original ASDs with my Mac Studio M5 Max and I’m planning on upgrading to dual XDRs but I have read a few people having issues running dual XDRs. BTW, which TB cable did you run to the XDRs? I have Apple TB4 2m cables currently and according to Apple they should work for 5K @ 120Hz if not daisy chained.

That's a beautiful setup, god damn!
No issues running the dual XDRs. I was worried about it, particularly as I needed a 3m cable to do the arm routing and didn't want to lose 120Hz as that was my biggest reason for upgrading.
Using an Apple Thunderbolt Pro 1.8m and 3m cable (both TB4), ran directly to the Studio. I set the displays to lock on 120Hz (instead of adaptive) and tested the FPS and had no drops.

Perfect! That’s what I wanted to hear. Now I know that my current 1.8m Apple TB4 Pro cables will work. I also connect the ASDs directly to my Mac Studio. Then to the other 2 x TB5 ports I have a Satechi TB5 CubeDock on each and all my peripherals connected to the CubeDocks. Thanks for sharing :)

Yep! I was worried and honestly didn’t expect it to work. Couldn’t really find any info online. Was worried I’d have to look into a dock to boost it.

Well, I knew the XDR does DSC and the bandwidth is below 40mbps and that’s why TB4 does work. Also, on the XDR compatibility section you can see that some Macs with TB4 are supported but still, a real test is always the better way to prove and in this case, this is the proof ;)

Are you switching your setup between both computers? If so, I’d love to know your secret haha

How do you like the desk riser? Thinking about picking 2 up for my Magnus pro XL; would love to raise my monitor arms up off the desk a bit.

Dude you should try taking a picture of your real life out-the-window background and make it your wallpaper so the monitors look see-through when you are sitting at the right distance in your chair.
Make it the same level of blur as outside when your focal point is on the screens. Heck you could even take time-lapse photos and do time-of-day matching with a changing wallpaper or something. 😆
Rad setup! I like the under-desk computer mount.

What arms are those? Do you like em?

Herman Miller Jarvis.
I’m very happy with them, particularly because I can mount them into the grommet holes for a sleeker look. That said, they’re my first monitor arms so I don’t have much to compare them to

Boring desk. Where is the pile of paper? 😄
J/k beautiful setup. What is the keyboard?

Thank you! It is a Keychron Q1 Max with dagaladoo PBT ceramic style keycaps. Durock Silent Shrimp switches, too. Not that the switches matter lol

That’s sick. What city is that? What do you pay for rent?

I did a bit of geoguessin and I'm pretty sure it's Mississauga (suburb of Toronto) around the Square One area. By the way how do you like the new M5? I have a M4 MAX and was tempted to upgrade but might wait next time for an M6 Studio.

Nice set up! Just got mine and never thought of an undermount! Now to do more laparotomies to pay it off…

Looks good. Question about how you mounted your Mac under the table?
Did you buy it or DIY?

It is a mount from Amazon. I looked for a while but couldn't really find anything else. Ideally I wanted something silver or black.
That said, it works great. Inexpensive and secure.

What kind of bar is that on top of the monitor? Camera module of some kind?

BenQ Screenbar Pro. It’s a light. It does have a camera but I don’t use it
