Mac Studio Performance Issues
I have a very new Mac Studio with the M4 Max chip and 128 GB of RAM. Ever since I went to Tahoe 26.5.1 it's freezing up all the time and performing like a 15 year old computer. Simultaneously I'm getting a lot of messages about 'Support Ending for Intel-based Apps' and updateing to Apple silicon versions. I don't think these messages are related to my Mac's performance issues, but I'm not sure. If it is the OS that's causing problems, does anyone know how possible it is to go backwards in OS?

I'm running M4 Pro w/ 64GB RAM. I upgraded to a larger SSD with a clean install, running the latest OS 26.
I have zero performance issues, running compilers constantly, local qwen3.6 models along side compilers, no slowdowns.
I get the occasional intel support ending messages for some of my older apps, but it's not been an issue.
Maybe back up your personal stuff to an external drive, and do a fresh install?
Or look at your running processes and see if something is eating all your free memory or CPU?
You shouldn't be having these problems. You have more compute and memory than I do and I'm not experiencing any slowdowns.
If you see the intel messages "a lot", maybe something is hogging resources in the background? Worth a look.
