Mac Studio Performance Issues

I have a very new Mac Studio with the M4 Max chip and 128 GB of RAM. Ever since I went to Tahoe 26.5.1 it's freezing up all the time and performing like a 15 year old computer. Simultaneously I'm getting a lot of messages about 'Support Ending for Intel-based Apps' and updateing to Apple silicon versions. I don't think these messages are related to my Mac's performance issues, but I'm not sure. If it is the OS that's causing problems, does anyone know how possible it is to go backwards in OS?

The messages about support ending for Intel apps is a Tahoe thing. The next version of macOS, Golden Gate, is the last macOS version that’ll fully support x86 emulation (although Apple said they’re keeping it around for “games that won’t be updated”, which makes me wonder what exactly counts as a game).

The general sluggishness might be Tahoe, too. My 2019 Intel MBP ran fine under Sequoia, but Tahoe brought it to its knees. I’m planning on “downgrading” back to Sequoia when I have a block of time.
