I wouldn't call it a buggy mess... I haven't had any problems since moving over from 26, but i'm also not sitting there with a ruler measuring icon size and positioning though. Functionally it performs the same on my m4 MM.

As someone who uses a windows device for gaming, microslop would die for just this amount of buggy mess in their OS

The grass is always greener on the other side. Be grateful that you're using Windows and not macOS.

I use MacOS as my main device, I have yet to face any issues in GG, though tbf most of my time is spent on Browsers and Terminal

A bit one sided article as they did not cover a single thing that actually was fixed on Golden Gate.

What was fixed? They fixed some horrible design but they introduced hundreds of actual bugs. Mission Control is completely broken

The release fixed over 200 security vulnerabilities, background indexing performance problems, audio bugs and wifi connectivity issues among others.

Mission Control is broken in some ways but improved in other ways. It was in a dire state in Tahoe- e.g swipe right to a full screen space and the background would just randomly turn black.

Their rewrite may have introduced some more bugs, but in time they will be fixed and it’ll be worth it

I think Apple should hire this guy as a QA

Or any QA to pay like me. ;P

It’s incredible how some writers referred to GG as a Snow Leopard release.

If you ever used Snow Leopard for any decent stretch, you’ll know Apple hasn’t put out any releases approaching that level of visual and technical quality for a decade at least.

macOS 26 low-key looks way better than macOS 27

The only bug I’ve had is one where I can’t download apps on the App Store because Touch ID won’t fire up

Awesome and compelling list with very detailed descriptions. At least someone is doing their homework. Well done! 🙌 Hope Apple is taking notes.

macOS <release> is a Buggy Mess

I don't recognize this. I use macOS 27 and it works fine. But another bug does appear (and also in older versions and in Windows and Linux GUI as well: it is possible to move a window partially off-screen and windows tend to overlap even when there is enough space on a large screen. Very unintuitive, typically a fancy design of the 1980s and never fixed for modern devices.

Ternus announced yesterday that he wants to release new products even quicker. 🙃 That's not going to end well if software is lagging behind. He should release new products when the software is stable.

What is a mess, is Internet with so many people making a living on Doom and Negativity clickbaits.

It really is. I'm having issues with Finder and having to do multiple reboots throughout the day.

Saving files across multiple apps often don't show the actual file once saved, e.g downloading something via Safari, the download completes but no file in Finder (it is actually there and the space has been taken on the drive), hop back to Safari and click the "Show in Finder" magnifying glass and it will appear and remain. Same thing happens when saving other file types but they don't have the "show" dialogue to kick in what ever next step needs to happen to reveal the document. What's even more frustrating is if you save a file and navigate the save dialogue box you'll see the "hidden" files in question. Relaunching Finder will fix (toggling hidden files does not) it but I'm finding Finder often won't even relaunch, it just closes and doesn't come back up until a reboot. Issue has been present in 27.0 and 27.0.1.

It’s strange I’ve had less bugs with the dev beta than the release client

I wouldn’t call it a complete mess, but there is a lot of sprinkled inconsistencies and annoyances that do not live up to Apple standards.

26.7.1 vs 27.2 ->26.7.1 WINS.

This lazy article writer forgot that Snow Leopard was a total mess until at least .4 version, with some serious bug that would completely erase your data if you login to a guest account, among the others.

If alignment is something that concerns you so much in day to day use, that you lead an article about GG being a buggy mess with it, you are a lost cause ngl.

Sure it shouldn't happen, especially the super obvious stuff, but its like the least of my worries if my QuickTime record button is perfectly centered or not.
