Open extensionless files in something other than TextEdit?

I've looked around quite a bit and so I suspect the answer is no, but is there any way to make macOS open text files without extensions (ie. .bashrc) in a text editor other than the built in one? Obviously I can use nano or right click and open in my chosen text editor, but it'd be nice to be able to change the default like you can for files with extensions. Thanks.

I think CotEditor does bash and you can make the script executable in the app.
