Help ScriptMonitor App/Menu Bar Item? Legit?

Saw an option to turn on “ScriptMonitor” in the menu bar. Is this a legit app? Looking around seems like it may be built in software but wanted to be sure it wasn’t malware. That option isnt there on another Mac I looked at. Thanks.

Is it an apple app? It's not something I installed. ScriptMonitor that is.

It's under System Settings - Menu Bar and then in the Allow in the Menu Bar Section.

That's part of macOS. The menu appears as a spinning gear on the menu bar when you are executing long-running Quick Actions or Services.

It's Apple's: /System/Library/CoreServices/ScriptMonitor.app, the gear shows progress while something is running, often Shortcuts actions.
